Obituary of John Michael Thompson

John Michael Thompson of Wenonah, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.  He was 62.

Legacy

A loud and proud man, John dedicated his life to his family.  He had a smile that could light up the room and you always knew he was there.  John was very handy, was a jack of all trades and could fix anything, but the crack of dawn.  John started his career as a sheet metal worker in 1974 for the Sheet Metal Workers Local 194 and later retired from the Sheet Metal Workers Local 19.   Family was the most important thing to John and he was happiest when surrounded by them.  Being at the little house was what John enjoyed most.  A kind soul among us, he will be missed deeply by those he knew and loved.

Beloved son of the late James and Marjorie;  devoted husband for 24 years to Katherine (nee Bockius);  loving father of John (Jeanette), Brian (Stephanie), Michael, Joe, and Michelle;  cherished grandfather of Johnny, Bella, and Shane; dear brother to Jim (Mag) and Jeff (Deb);  treasured uncle to Jennifer, Jim, Matt, Haley, Sydney and Julia. 

Farewell Service

Relatives and friends are invited to attend John’s viewing on Tuesday from 10AM – 12PM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at     12PM. Interment private at the request of the family.
