Obituary of William F. Dougherty

William Francis Dougherty, age 90, of Woodbury, NJ passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 24, 2018 after a short illness.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, William was a World War II veteran Navy salvage diver, a past volunteer fireman for Verga Fire Dept, and a proud member of Philadelphia Sheet Metal Workers Union 19.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and was loved and adored by all those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann (née Bergamo) of 56 years and is survived by his three children, and four grandchildren.

William will always be remembered and beloved for his quick wit and smile and the unwavering lightness and goodness of his spirit. He will forever be missed by his aggrieved loved ones.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church at 64 Cooper Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096 on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass at 11 AM. A private burial and internment will take place on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Calvary cemetery in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
