Obituary of Michael L. Puca
Michael L. Puca, 77, of Pinehurst, NC, passed away on October 6, 2018 with his loving family at his side.
Legacy
A strong willed and hardworking man, Michael was full of great stories and knew just how to capture his audience. To those who did not know Michael, he might come across as rough, but those who knew and loved him knew that under the surface, Michael was a teddy bear. Michael didn’t mince words, and was never afraid to give his opinion, even if it wasn’t favored. He knew that folks have many acquaintances in life, but few real friends and those are the ones that you treasure; he was very knowledgeable and full of wisdom…these are the lessons that he passed on to his loved ones. Besides his family, his passions in his life were golf and cars. His family has counted and knows that Michael has owned over one hundred cars including one of his favorites, his Pantera.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Michael was a proud Honorably Discharged United States Navy Veteran and longtime member of the Steamfitters, Local Union 420 in Philadelphia. After retiring in 2003, Michael was able to spend more of his time on his favorite pastime, golfing at Pinehurst. Between 2001 and 2008, Michael owned three homes before finding the home, he knew was for him in Pinehurst, NC. As always with Michael, there were stories along the way. One of the favorites is when he sold his home in Ocean City MD. The first folks who came to see the home, fell in love with it just as it was, and bought the home, with everything in it, including his dog, Bogey, who he couldn’t keep in the temporary quarters he was moving to.
Family
He is the beloved father of Joseph (Linda), Michael (Kame) and Anthony; devoted grandfather of Matthew, Donna (Keith), Greg (Jennifer), Nicole (Scott), Carla, Kelly (Anthony), Travis and great grandpop of Arianna, Kaitlyn, Nathan, Anthony, Hannah, Mason, Maverick and Madden; dear brother of the late Victor, Tomasina and Patricia. Michael is also survived by the mother of his children, Ginny Puca and many loving nieces and nephews.
