I thought of Tony the other day. I figured I would look him up and found this.
I was heartbroken.
I worked with Tony back in the Rhone Poulenc Rhorer days. I had fond memories of him. I was a contractor and Tony, an Employee.
He always supported me and made sure I had a place on the team. Tony was a genuine person and a really nice Guy. I remember his story of some of his music being used in the Cosby show I believe.
I'm really sorry for your loss! Tony will always be one of the people that make up my fond memories from the past. I wish I could meet more people like him in business and personal life.
Mark

Tony was a wonderful pianist, composer and performer. He made a great record with me in my studio several years ago. To this day it is some of my favorite music. He also did some great arrangements for Michele Santo, and he lives on in her record as well.

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Tony. He and I both worked at Eagle Lodge Conference Center in the mid-eighties. He worked a couple nights a week playing piano in the lobby lounge and I worked as a bartender. The two things I remember the most about Tony were his extraordinary musical ability and that big laugh of his. When he'd go on break, he'd come over to the bar and we'd spend our time trying to crack each other up. There were many times that we would have tears in our eyes, crying laughing. Great sense of humor. Always enjoyed spending time with him. Just a wonderful guy and terrific pianist. My sincerest condolences go out to his entire family and all his friends.

Dearest Vattimo Family,
I had the pleasure of working for Tony as my first job out of Drexel and at Merck. During my time around Tony, I knew his loves where faith, family and music. He was a remarkably intelligent man that had a great sense of humor.
There was one situation that I experienced early on with Tony. I fogot to bring a server back up after an upgrade and Tony calms my cell phone. It’s Sunday and I’m in church and he asks me, “Anish, did you bring the servers back up?” My response m, “No, because I assumed they automatically came back up.” He responded and said, “Anish, you know what happens when you assume? You make an ass out of you and me.” I’m 10 years into my career at Merck and I’ve shared that story every opportunity I get. It was a great testament to who Tony was and what he was trying to teach me at such a young age.
You were all so blessed to be around him for the years he had on this earth. Please know he loved each and everyone one of you. Thank for for sharing him with me early on in my career because it’s helped me mold me into who I am today.
God bless and my sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Be well,
Anish P. Thomas

I worked very closely with Tony for many years at Merck and enjoyed every minute of his company - even when he mad about something! He seemed to know everyone and had kind words to say to all - and it was obvious he touched many people. I feel honored to have known him and feel proud to say I could call him my friend. He was certainly an original - talented, fun loving and proud of his family and his heritage. I will miss him and his wonderful smile!

Dear Vattimo family,
I have known Tony since his days back at Merck and even way back at RPR. Tony always had a beautiful smile on his face and a wonderful attitude towards life. We had our appreciation for our Italian heritage in common and we shared the same values. Although I did not know about his musical talents all that time, I did know how much love he had for you, his family and for our Lord. Tony will be cherished as the caring family man that he was. You are in my heart and prayers for God’s comfort during this sorrowful time.

Chris and family. I am so sorry to hear the loss of Tony but we know that he is no longer suffering.
He was such a great choir director and organist and pianist and person. We enjoyed the talents that he shared with us at Schwarzwald United Church of Christ. We are so glad that he was there to share his talents with us.
(Since I just lost my husband to cancer in July, I understand how hard this is for everyone.) The kindness of friends and family is such a great help.
Keeping you in my prayers and God be with you.

Very sad to hear about Tony, we played in the Vincent James Band together back in the 80's and early 90's. We had so much fun playing music together...when Tony joined the band we depended on him as our lead vocalist as well as covering piano and keyboards...he did both extremely well and helped us elevate the band to a much higher level. We went our separate ways after he left the band but I'll always admire his love and dedication to his family, and all the good times we shared. Blessings and comfort to you Chris, and to your children.
