Obituary of Marie C. Rumaker
Marie C. Rumaker, (nee O'Connor) of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. She was 87 years old.
Legacy
A determined, loving woman who was accepting of everyone she met along her life's journey, Marie was a true advocate for the people she loved and the issues she believed in. Marie and her husband, Bill, shared 61 years of marriage and raised five boys. She worked as a Lunch Room Clerical Aide for the West Deptford School District. Marie was a proud 1949 graduate of West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School.
Marie was a loyal parishioner of St. Matthew's R. C. Church where she was a lector, CCD teacher, and an alto in the choir. She also served as a cantor, a task for which she taught herself to play the guitar. Marie loved playing the piano and creating wonderful memories with her family, such as carrying on a family tradition on Christmas Eve: having the children process to a home nativity and place Jesus in the manger. She loved traveling. Marie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
