Obituary of E. Marge Doughten
E. “Marge” Doughten 89 of Westville NJ passed away peacefully on 22 Nov. She is predeceased by her parents, her brother, and her late husband of 52 years James M. Doughten Jr. of Westville, NJ.
Marge (you may know her as “the lady with the pink and blue glasses”) worked 31 years as an Emergency Department Register at Underwood Memorial Hospital. She was retired for a whopping 2 months before she couldn’t stand it anymore and returned to the hospital’s ED as a volunteer. She volunteered for almost another decade. When not at “work” she enjoyed complaining about, but secretly loving, her daughter’s very large, but very sweet, Rottweiler and totally crazy Jack Russell.
Marge is survived by her three children: Daughter Nancy DiFlavis and her husband Pat, son James M. Doughten III. and his wife Mary, and daughter Sally Doughten. She is also survived by two grandchildren, two step grandchildren, one great grandchild, one step great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to join Marge’s family for her viewing Monday evening 6:30-9 PM and Tuesday morning 9-10 AM in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096; where her Funeral Ceremony will follow on Tuesday at 10 AM. Entombment Eglington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marge’s memory may be made to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, 1200 N. Delsea Drive, Clayton, NJ 08312.
