Obituary of Charles E. Owens

Charles E. Owens, 91, of Westville, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

Family 

He is the beloved husband of 68 years to the late Lois J. (nee Bailey); devoted father of Andrea Carlson and Charles J. Owens; grandfather of five and great grandfather of three; beloved uncle of Sandy Horn and family.

Legacy

Charles, a Gloucester boy, lived in Westville with Lois for 65 years. Active in town from the early Little League days, to school board, to Borough council, Charles became mayor in 1988. He attended the Republican National conventions in 1980 and 1988. He was 19 when he started at NJ Bell and retired after 34 years becoming Clerk of the Board of Freeholders. His final and favorite job was Operations Manager of the Atlantic City Expressway. Charles also enjoyed being a member of the Westville Lions Club.

Farewell Ceremony 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home - 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MichaelJFox.org foundation for Parkinson’s research.
