Obituary of James K. Hall

James K. Hall, affectionately known as “Jim” to his NJ family; “Kris “to his Indiana family and “Doc” to his Army buddies; passed away at home with his loving family by his side on December 6, 2018. Jim just recently celebrated his 70th birthday.

LEGACY

Jim was born in Gary, Indiana and grew up in a small town called Shelby. He served in the Army during Vietnam as a Medic where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Sharpshooter M14 Medal and Expert M16. Following his service; Jim earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and worked in Washington, DC where he and Beth met, were married and welcomed their first child, Kim. Shortly after, they moved back to NJ and welcomed their two younger children; Kristy & Andrew and their family was formed.

Jim worked for many years for West Deptford Twp. until his retirement in 2014; and spent countless hours volunteering as a coach, umpire and maintaining the fields so the kids had great facilities to play on.

Jim was an active member of 2/35th Cacti Association; where he served as President for 2 years. His duties included representing the Association by attending Funerals of fallen comrades and locating the fallen members of the 2nd of the 35 regiment from across the country.

Jim loved taking long walks with his faithful companion, Murphy; enjoyed NASCAR and his usual Thursday night routine of tuning in to watch This Old House. In recent years; Jim and Beth got to enjoy some of their retirement by traveling and going on some great cruises. Jim will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved this special man.
