Mama,
There are not enough words to describe the ache in my heart that will never go away. You taught me so much that I will continue to apply to my life forever; Compassion, loyalty, strength, kindness, optimism, being silly even at sad times, & unconditional love. You were my best friend. You would always tell me during our heart to hearts, that nobody understood you the way that I did. And the feeling was mutual. I could never hide anything from you. You knew me better than I knew myself. We had a bond like no other. How many times have we been told over the years how envious people were of our relationship? It really was special wasn't it Mom? To John, Johnny, Jenna and family,
I met Janet in our art history class in the spring of 1974. I could see that she was a beautiful person, inside and out. While I yearned to date her, she was, alas, with a guy named John. This, we became friends as basking in her light and knowing she was happy with her guy was enough. I sent Janet a birthday card every year and a Christmas card to the family. I last saw Janet for lunch in2007 and told her that I found someone special as well. She was a wonderful listener in addition to her other qualities. You guys hit the jackpot for sure. Janet, I have said this a thousand times. It’s so unfortunate that I only knew you for a short period of time. But, my heart says it has been a life time. I told you that the day I met you. You came into my life through marriage of my niece, Dana. But, I felt like I knew you all of my life. I always knew, that wasn’t about me but, anyone who came into contact with you from day one has felt a strong love for you. It’s a very rare feeling. But, for anyone who had the blessing to have met you, it all makes sense. It’s because you truly are someone special. My heart is aching for all you left behind, your devoted husband, your precious daughter, and son in law, your loving son and daughter in law, affectionate granddaughter, loyal brothers and sisters, your entire family, which includes Sami and all of your committed friends. You truly are an angel, but the difference is you were an angel on earth and in heaven. Always remember, Janet may not be here in the flesh, but will always be here in spirit. Lastly, I would like to thank God for bringing her into our lives. I know it was hard for the lord to let her stay down on earth because she was perfect.

I was a student of Mrs.Fitzgerald's in the late 90s and very much enjoyed her as a teacher. I have thought about her occasionally through the years and always hoped she was doing OK. As I read her obituary I saw the words "classy", "graceful" and "poise". That's definitely how I'll always remember her. Prayers to her family and friends and please know that she made a positive impact on my life.

We are so very sorry for your loss. We met Janet and John ten years ago at the West Ave house. We were strangers at the time, but within days became friends. Janet was so kind to our children and treated them as if they were her grandchildren. Through the years we kept in touch and Janet would always do something special for our children when she knew we were coming to the shore. She was such a wonderful person. I graduate High School with Janet. She was always kind and friendly to Everyone no matter if you were class president or the quietest in the class. I caught up with her on Facebook. She hadn't changed...still sweet and caring. I encouraged her along with so many others thru her ordeal with cancer. I was sure she was going to beat this terrible disease.
I will always remember her.

It is true what they say - - - - ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG and Janet is proof of that. She was something so very special to me and she will forever be in my heart. Our PM's were also very special to me and I looked forward to them each and every day.... most were very silly and we would laugh together because laughter is the best medicine.
