I will always cherish my childhood memories filled with summertime sleepovers at my Aunt and Uncle's Franklinville home. Growing up in several different two bedroom apartments allowed me to have a huge appreciation for what my 8/9/10/11 year old self thought was the most beautiful home in the world. I was so excited to be able to play in the basement, swim in the pool, and/or just sit on the landing above the living room with my feet hanging over the edge while my Aunt and Uncle were watching TV below in front of the fireplace. Of course, there were also all of those times that my Uncle, my cousins and I played games together too! He was always willing to play a game with us and we always had so much fun. In my youthful mind, whenever my mom drove me to Franlinville to visit their beautiful house with the pool, deep in the woods, I always felt like I was visiting my rich Aunt Jean and Uncle Tom.
Once my Uncle Tom started using his wheelchair, I rarely "saw" it. That was because he was always so active. He was always outside doing something. He never let that wheelchair stop him from living his life. I was proud of him for that and I know that I can credit him for helping to teach me how to treat people that are "differently abled" with love and respect.
I will miss you, Uncle Tom.

Dear Jean and Family:
So saddened to hear of the loss of "Pop"Tom. I met him only a few times during my years of working with Jean, but felt as if I knew him pretty well through all of the stories that Jean told me and conversations that I had with her over the years.
