Joyce and the Iaquinto Family, I know that this is a hard time for you all and there is nothing I can say that will lift the burden and sorrow in your hearts. Gus, truly was a terrefic Marine, Father, and Grandfather. I know he will be missed greatly but he had a great life with such a loving family and you now can share all this memories and remember him in your hearts. Know that Gus will truly be with the love of his life and share eternity with the Lord. My heart truly goes out to you all.

Mr. I was father to Joyce, who was and still is one of my closest friends since middle school. He shared his warm, kind and very generous personality to me in so many ways, and I am deeply appreciative of this veteran who was so humble that he never mentioned being a marine vet to me in all of the many years that I knew him and was in his company, which was often. I also cherish memories of sharing meals at his homes in Pennsauken, NJ, and especially in North Wildwood, NJ. And occasionally even at at least one really nice restaurant. He was a man worthy of honoring.

My dearest Joyce and Z,
Words cannot begin to express how sorry I am for your loss.

I know you will miss him but know that all of your many friends are here waiting to embrace you and surround you during this very difficult time of your loss!
Prayers to you!
We are here for you!

My earliest memories of Pop-Pop and Mom-Mom include gatherings of family in their Pennsauken home, one that seemed far too small for all the family members, but was so filled with love, caring and a sense that all was right in the world. Over time, my grandparents never stopped sharing their love and time with not only myself, but my siblings, then my children. From Christmas days/nights, where they would bring bags of gifts larger than myself, to summer days/nights on the beach and boardwalk, to attending ball games, school events, every family event, and even my graduation from law school. Quieter, one-on-one time with Pop-Pop was no less profound, with Pop-pop telling incredible stories of his life, both in the war and thereafter, including stories from Zabers and ADT. Pop-pop was even instrumental in assisting me with meeting my future wife at The Admiral's Quarters, where I began working summer mornings when I was only 13 years of age. As he would drive me to work at 6:00am, we would talk about life, not knowing then what a gift that truly was. Over the years, Pop-pop took me on trips to see Grandmom Mary in Vineland, to see family in Ohio, and on various work trips to install alarms. He taught me valuable lessons about work ethic, but also the importance of time with family. As I tried to follow his advice entering my own career, I enjoyed speaking with him and my father mornings when I was driving to work and they were gallivanting in Florida without any women to restrain them. At an advanced age, Pop-pop would even still meet me for lunch at Five Points, where he would regale me with stories I had never heard before, and not allow me to pay the bill. So, God has now taken the two most influential men in my life within the last four months and, while I am utterly heartbroken and wonder how to even go on, I understand from them that I must try to lead by example like they did, love unconditionally like they did and live life to the fullest as they did, knowing full well that, no matter how hard I try, I will never be able to fill their shoes. Pop-pop, thank you for everything and rest now knowing that the people you touched will always remember you and miss you.

Henry Sur posted a condolence

Several years ago when my wife and I were wintering in Florida at Emerald Island Resort, I'd go up the clubhouse in the morning buy a paper and grab a cup of coffee. When it was a nice morning I'd take my paper and coffee and go out to the pool. One such day I saw Gus sitting alone after I finished my paper. I got up and offered him my paper. We immediately became friends. We spent many a morning having a cup of coffee. He would always introduce me as "My good friend Henry". I called him several times through the years and called every year on his birthday. If I called and he did not answer, I would leave a message and he would always return my call. I know Gus is with the Lord and I look forward to when I can reunite with him. I can't wait to introduce him to my father who also served in World War II but somehow I think that has already been done. Gus was loved and respected by many, you have my deepest condolences and hope all can find comfort knowing he is with his Lord and Savior.
