Obituary of Richard M. Shaw
Richard M. Shaw, of Deptford, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019. He was aged 90 years.
Legacy
Dick was born and raised in Camden. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Iowa during World War II where he received the World War II Victory Medal. Following his service Dick returned home and worked as an Electrician for Texaco at the Eagle Point Plant in Westville until his retirement in 1984.
Away from his work, was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbury Heights. He enjoyed a good round of golf every once in a while. Most of all, Dick enjoyed the company of his family where great memories were made which will now be cherished as his legacy.
Family
Dick is the beloved husband of 62 years to the late Mildred (nee Glutch); loving father of Fennis Shaw, Richard ( Debbie) Shaw, Debbie Wilson & Lorraine (Bill) Gore; cherished grandfather of James, Billy, Matthew, Alexa, Melissa & Deanna; great grandfather of 9; devoted brother of the late Roberta Ellis & Warren Shaw.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dick's viewing on Tuesday morning after 9 AM in the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbury Heights, 335 Elm Avenue, Woodbury Hts., where his Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbury Hts., 335 Elm Avenue, Woodbury Hts., NJ 08097. Arrangements are under the direction of the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, Woodbury & Washington Twp.
