Obituary of Mary Edith Compagnoni

Mary "Edith" Compagnoni (nee Marschall), of Turnersville, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019.  She was blessed to reach 92 this past November.

 Legacy

Edith will be remembered as a creative and intelligent woman who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at Christmas.  Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren and she spent the past 25 years spoiling them with love and affection.  She took pleasure in reading, sewing, crocheting and knitting; cooking and baking, she will be remembered for her famous potato salad and her Easter Bunny cake.  Edith always loved the challenge of a good crossword or jigsaw puzzle, and relished a high scoring game of Scrabble as well.  She worked for a quarter century at Hurffville Elementary School where she was an exceptional math aide.  Edith was blessed with many close friends and enjoyed hosting them poolside, where she will be missed this summer.  She was extraordinary in her strength and love.

Family

Edith is the beloved wife to the late Gerard "Babe" Compagnoni of 54 years.  Devoted mother to Linda A. Harrison (Kent), Gerard P. (Maureen) and Laura J.  Cherished grandmother to Gerard Paul Compagnoni,  Zachary Harrison, Emily Compagnoni, Shea Harrison and Ava Compagnoni.  Daughter of the late Francis and Margaret Marschall, and dear sister to Robert (Mary) Marschall and the late Margaret (Walter) Hood and Frank Marschall.  Edith is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

 Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, April 22 at the McGuinness Funeral Home - Washington Township from 8:30 am until 10:15 am.  Funeral service will be held on April 22, 2019 at 11:00am at the Church of the Holy Family, Sewell, NJ.  Burial will follow at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ.
