Obituary of John H. Schappert

John H. Schappert  CMSGT (Retired), 95 years, died peacefully surrounded by his wife and daughters on July 9, 2019. 

 

Legacy

John is the son of Lewis F. and Florence (Heck) Schappert, third of six children.  Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the family moved to Gardenville and then Westville.  Jack graduated from Woodbury High School in 1942 and served in the Arm Air Corp with CBI in India from ’42-’45.  Entered the Air Force in 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict and in Vietnam.  A resident of West Deptford since 1978.

 

Family

John is survived by his wife, Catherine (Krimm); daughters Catherine McKenny and Susan M; granddaughter, Rachel Newman (Kelly); grandsons, David G and Philip J; brother, Richard J and sister, Rosemarie D’Andrea and numerous nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by son, John G. Schappert.

 

 

Funeral Tribute

Funeral services will be held at a later date with interment at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moorestown WNA Hospice, St. Labre Indian School, P.O. Box 216 Ashland, MT  59003-9989 or the Gloucester County  Animal Shelter, 1200 North Delsea Drive, Clayton, NJ 08312.
