Obituary of Nerie B. Rivera
Nerie B. Rivera, a resident of National Park, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019. She was 90.
Legacy
Nerie was known by family and friends as a great cook, very generous, had a great sense of humor, tough as nails, fiercely independent, very strong willed and not to mention stubborn and had her "own" way of doing things. She would always make sure her family came first whether it was making sure they had something to eat or needed someone to talk to. She was always there for anyone who needed her and always thought about everyone else before herself. She was the family's "rock" more than matriarch. Her beloved husband of 71 years was her soul mate and her best friend. Her family would want others to remember Nerie for her unconditional love, wisdom, humor, sheer independence and her feisty personality that she was very well-known for.
Some of her past-times included cooking, helping out at school with lunch (in her younger years) and getting involved with other school functions. In her younger years she was also a member of the bowling club, prayer group and being active in many other functions in which her husband was a member of over the years. She always loved to "help" others whenever she could and always remained active and independent as much as possible.
One of the fondest memories for Nerie's family were the family's many pig roast events where hundreds of friends would come and enjoy a day of amazing food and unlimited jokes, laughs and memories. The family has no doubt that once Nerie goes to Home to be with God, her family that went before her will be waiting for her and her husband signal a huge celebration with a pig roast and more amazing food and memories in Heaven!

Nerie is predeceased in death by her brother Virgil, sister Diana, daughters Migdalia and Naomi.
