Obituary of Jeanne Caroline Tice
Jeanne C. Tice (nee Wieland), a long-time resident of Woodbury Hts. and Ocean City, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the age of 91 surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife for 53 years to the late George Tice, Sr. Jeanne is survived by her son, George, Jr.; daughter, Carolyn; granddaughter Amy C. Tice; grandson Brian G. Tice (Deidre); and three great-grandchildren: Cole Tice, Layla Tice, and Liam Tice.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Jeanne was a proud graduate of Little Flower High School, Class of ’46. Her family will remember her for her incredible work ethic and caring and loving personality. In her professional life, Jeanne was a Court Clerk in Gloucester County and an active union organizer for Communication Workers of America. She also served as the Borough Clerk and Water and Sewer Clerk for Woodbury Hts.
For nearly 62 years Jeanne was an active member at the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbury Hts., where she served as deacon for many terms. Jeanne enjoyed many hobbies and activities, such as crossword puzzles and crocheting, or traveling the world. Her favorite destination outside of OCNJ was Austria. But nothing compared to the annual tradition that she and her husband George had for 40 years of traveling to the Plaza Beach Hotel in St. Petersburg, FL. After George passed away in 2001, Jeanne continued the tradition of visiting this destination where they had made many friends.
Jeanne will always hold a special place in so many hearts. Her warm friendship, her kind spirit, her savvy business sense, and her great sense of humor will be missed by so many.
