Obituary of Michael k. Galbraith

Galbraith, Michael K. 54, Mayor of Westville, peacefully passed away on June 13, 2008. Mike's legacy that will live on with his family and friends is the passion that he had for his family and for the dedicated service that he constantly would strive to provide to the community through his service. Born in Tacoma, WA; Mike was the owner of M.K. Galbraith Custom Wall Covering for more than 20 years. Mike served the Borough of Westville on Borough Council since 1992 and as Council President and then Mayor since 2007. He enjoyed memberships with Westville Little League and Soccer, Lions Club and Gloucester County Democratic Committee. Mike will be remembered as a friend to everyone and for his philosophy to "Never, never give up." Mike is survived by his Beloved wife of 34 years and high school sweetheart, Marian nee Maloney. Devoted father of Matthew and his wife Donna, Kevin and Gregory Galbraith. Cherished grandfather of Van Galbraith. Dear brother of Donna Livadiotis and Scott Galbraith. Loving son of Marie nee Heitzman Galbraith Densten and the late M. Kenneth Galbraith Dear son in law of Mary Helen Maloney. Mike's Lifetime Tribute will be held Thursday 4 to 8 PM in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury and Friday morning in St. Anne R. C. Church, Westville after 8:30 AM where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM. Interment New Saint Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mike's memory may be made to the Westville Friends of Public Safety, 917 Broadway, Westville, NJ 08093 for the establishment of a student scholarship fund.
