Obituary of Martin J. Porrini

Martin J. Porrini, Sr. of National Park, NJ, formerly of Southwest Phila., on June 3, 2008. Aged 73 years. Marty was a generous man who never had a bad word to say about anyone. His devotion to his family and to his career was paramount in his life. Born to Ceasare and Rosemarie Porrini, and raised in Philadelphia, Marty was a proud US Army Veteran. For over 50 years his passion was working in the super market industry. For 20 years Marty was a fixture at Penn Fruit Co., then managed many area supermarkets, as well as being owner of Shop Fresh in Chester. Marty could fix just about anything and when it came to giving advice, his word was gold. Keeping his swimming pool meticulous, cheering on the Eagles & spending time with his family especially his grandchildren were just a few of things in life that brought him great enjoyment. He is the beloved husband of 49 years to Diana nee Tangradi; devoted father of Donnamarie Barbetta Joseph, Lisa "The Pizza" Magee Jimmy and Martin J., Jr. Christina; dear brother of Rose Pieretti, Angie Cross and the late Theresa Aerhart and Jay Porrini; loving grandfather of Joseph, Dinamarie, Nicholas, Brittney and Gabrielle and great grandfather of Ashley and Nicole; uncle to numerous nieces & nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sat. 8:30-11:15 AM in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury.
