Obituary of Anna Claire Centurione

Centurione, Anna Claire nee DeFrancesco, of Mantua, formerly of Mt. Ephraim, passed peacefully with family by her side on May 19, 2008. Aged 87 years. Anna left a legacy as a loving, caring, and gentle woman who found her greatest enjoyment at family get togethers. She was involved with many organizations throughout her life — Past President of the Women's League of Mt. Ephraim, Past President of the Women's Police Reserve, active for many years in the Mt. Ephraim Little League, held offices in the Mt. Ephraim School Board, and remained active in the Church of the Incarnation Seniors Club in her later years. Anna worked as a knitting inspector for the Blackwood Knitting Mill. She enjoyed baking and cooking, especially the homemade cookies around Christmas time. She was very talented when it came to crocheting. She would crochet newborn clothes for the children in the family and friends. She loved musicals and listened to church hymns. Her favorite place was Cape Coral, FL where she lived for several years. Anna is the widow of late Dan Centurione; who was married 63 years. Beloved mother of Daniel Centurione of Canton, GA., Linda Toretsky of Mantua, NJ, and Richard Centurione of Ringwood, NJ. Dear sister of Carlo DeFrancesco of Gibbsboro, Joseph DeFrancesco of Souderton, PA, Thomas DeFrancesco of West Deptford, Rita Bellardine of Voorhees, and Florence Notto of Philadelphia. Proud grandmother of 4 surviving grandchildren and late 2 grandchildren. Proud great-grandmother of 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main St., Mantua, NJ 08051. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Incarnation-Building Fund, 234 Shadow Place, Mantua, NJ 08051.
