Obituary of Rosemary E. Dailey
Rosemary E. Dailey Curtorillo, of Deptford NJ, died Friday evening, May 2, 2008, after a short illness at Brandywine Hospital in Pennsylvania.
Rosemary, 84, was born and raised in Clearfield, PA with nine siblings. Soon after graduation from Clearfield High School, Rosemary enlisted in the Navy and served as a WAVE at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, VA during World War II.
It was at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk where she met Paul Dailey, a young sailor, whom she would later marry after the war. Paul and Rosemary were married for 61 years until Paul passed away in October 2007. The couple raised three children together, Carol, Paul and Mary while living in Deptford, NJ.
Rosemary had a long career at the National Bank and Trust Company of Gloucester County now Wachovia Bank in Woodbury NJ. Rosemary and Paul were active volunteers in the early days of Most Holy Redeemer parish and school.
Rosemary was an avid sports fan and athlete in her younger days. She played basketball throughout high school and was the proud shortstop for the Navy's NAS Hellcats.
She spent much of her final months with her children and grand children in Pennsylvania. Rosemary will be remembered by the many lives she touched.
Rosemary is survived by son Paul Mimi, of Berwyn, PA; daughter Mary Burleson Al, of Morgantown WV; four grandchildren Christina, Michelle, Brian and Joshua; her sister Barbara Venezia of Burlington, NJ, sister Sarah Diasio of Philadelphia, PA and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing Wednesday evening 6:30 - 9PM and Thursday after 9:30AM in the McGUINNES FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Thursday in Most Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 1219 Delsea Drive,next to Holy Trinity School Westville Grove.
Interment Gloucester County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ.
