Obituary of Letitia M. Lamb

Lamb, Letitia M. nee Molony of Deptford Twp., on April 18, 2008. At the age of 79 passed in her daughter's home. Devoted Mother to Letitia and Mark Scanlon. Caring and loving Grandmother to Letitia Letty and Marquise Kiki Scanlon. Letitia is also Mother to Barbara and William, Grandmother to Nina Marie, William, Kelly Ann, Matthew and Joseph. Letitia was born at Front and Christian Sts in Philadelphia. She had wonderful parents, John and Margaret. Marge Moock, Mary Kane and Eddie Molony were her close-knit siblings. They were a dynamic family with much love in the home. Letty went to Hallahan High School. She had the best memories of her high school years where she played basketball. She was given a full basketball scholarship to Temple University. She started the basketball program at Shot Tower. Letitia played basketball at the Palestra. She played in the games before the Warriors 76ers. Letty was the star. Letitia was an outstanding athlete. She passed this on to her family. Letty raised her family on her own. She worked three jobs to make ends meet. She worked at Curtis Publishing. She was a switchboard operator at John Wanamaker's in Deptford since its opening. She sold Avon and Stanley Home Products. She was always a part of her children's lives. She was a cheerleading coach for St. Agnes Grade School and basketball coach for Cathedral Academy. Letty attended, with much pride, all of the activities her grandchildren Letty and Kiki took part in. They were her shining stars. Letitia had an extended family, Trudy Martin, Lois McCleary and Shirley Nickerson. There could be no truer friends.
