I have one constant memory of uncle Paul - his smile. He always greeted me with enthusiasm, a hearty handshake, and a sincere interest in knowing what and how I was doing.
One specific memory was at Christmas time. Uncle Paul gave my brother and me a fish tank and all of the equipment for Christmas. I later understood that this wasn't just any fish tank. Rather, it was his fish tank. Uncle Paul insisted that he give his nephews a gift that year so he gave us his fish tank. Well, we spend a fun hour or so preparing the tank for the fish that he brought the next day. Mom and dad got to keep the tank clean :

paul was my dad and what a wonderful dad he was. i live in florida so our time together in the last 10 years was only planned. the distance was only miles because we shared a love and friendship that no miles could part us.we spoke on the phone and it was just like we had spoken just yesterday.i am very proud to know that i carry many of his qualities such as friendliness and kindness. i have two of his grandsons and one daughter whom i see him in them.he blessed me with his wife julie and my two brothers joshua and jeremiah with whom have given me great joy to be my family.i will always cherish the love and affection my father gave me.i will miss him terribly but know he's all around me spreading his smile on us always.my love for him lives on and he lives in me.

I just want to jot down a few words to say how Mr. Steffen will be missed. I can only remember the good times that I've shared with him at the soccer field, at home and at work. He always seemed to have a nice big smile!

Paul was always pleasant and easy to talk to. When he would come into Hollywood he would always be smiling no matter what kind of day he would be having. My heart goes out his family for the lost of a wonderful husband and father. May he rest in peace. God speed Paul! You will truly be missed!

Paul was my brother and friend, a wonderful, selfless, kind, loving man. I will truly miss you but I will always remember our wonderful times together. Especially Boondocks and the day ashes blew over the ocean in the wind.
And thank you Julie for being such a wonderful wife and friend to my brother Paul.
Until we meet again Paul may God bless you. Your loving sister Helene
