Dear Mr. Gillen and family,
We were so sorry to hear of the loss of Mrs. Gillen. Mrs Gillen was a wonderful teacher and a GREAT person. She didn't just care about her classroom as a whole, but about each individual student. Mrs. Gillen was a shoulder for us to lean on and a great comfort to my daughter during our difficulties last year. Mrs Gillen, you will be sadly and sorely missed by all of those whose lives you have touched. May God grant you your wings expediently. You surely have earned them. We will miss you.
Sincerely,
Marianne Heisler Shoester - OLMC Class of 1986 and Melissa Shoester OLMC Class of 2009

Although I never had the pleasure of having Mrs. Gillen as a teacher, she taught my son two years ago and she definitely left a lasting impression on both of us. I was in such disbelief when I heard the sad news yesterday and immediately thought of how the kids would handle it. Although we will all miss her tremendously, I know she is in a better place and watching over all of us. To her family, I offer my sincere condolences for your loss and I'm extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to have met such a wonderful person and teacher. She will be missed by all and never forgotten.

To Mrs. Gillens family, I was so sad to hear of the news when my daughter came home from school yesterday. Mrs. Gillen taught my daughter at Our Lady Of Mt Carmel School last year, and also taught my son 6years ago and me at Mt Carmel 23 years ago, she was one of my favorite teachers. My children and I have so many good memories of her. My daughter was telling me some funny stories Mrs. Gillen told her in the past about her life and her dog Gretchen,it really helped my daughter with the grief of loosing one of her teachers, and I will always remember her saving a front seat for me on the bus to a school trip, because I was afraid I would get car sick. Thank you so much for your great memories.
