Maria was an extremely generous woman. She loved her husband Tom without measure. Her sons here pride and joy. Her beloved husbad and sons live on in her heart. Maria and Tom were together so long, they could finish each other's sentences and know what touched and what hurt the other. Their loyalty fierce. Maria also had a very tender, soft place in her heart for her grandaughter Melissa Davey as she was the first grandaughter born of her sons, and she doted on her and loved her so much. She has many family, friends living and beyond, and in heaven where she resides forever, they meet, talk and love one another. I will always love her for giving birth and raising a wonderful son Jim, for me to love in this lifetime and beyond, as she and Tom will. People may forget what others may do for them, but they do not forget how they made us feel. I try to remember both. She will be missed. Lynette

I first met Maria and Tom back in 1972 when Jim, their oldest son, took me to their house in Pax River, MD. From the very start, Maria accepted me into the Davey family. At our wedding in 1973, she told me I was the daughter she never had. Her and I had a wonderful loving relationship.
I think one of the happiest days of her life was when Jim and I called them at 3:00 a.m. on March 12, 1977, to tell them that their first grandchild, Melissa Renee, was born. Melissa was 'her baby' and she inherited Maria's generous and caring heart, her zeal for life and her 'can-do' attitude.
Maria's greatest joys were her family, taking care of their house always immaculate, planting flowers, and entertaining family and friends.
I'm thankful to God for Maria and for all the happy times we shared. I'm certain that she is in Heaven, free now from all pain, dancing with the angels.
I loved her and will miss her.

Maria, my beloved grandmother, my Tata, my beloved teacher of love and generosity, will forever be in my heart. Since my entrance into this world, I have been blessed and showered with her love. She is second to none. She gave so much of herself to our family, always thoughtful, always beautiful. I love her and miss her dearly.
I will miss her soothing voice, her thoughtfulness, her beautiful rendition of happy birthday, her embrace, her love of dancing, her soothing humming of the greatest big band hits, her smile, her beauty, her love, her scolding me to brush my hair, wear a dress, and to eat more. She is one of a kind. This world has been honored with her presence and will never be the same without her.
From the famous West Side Story, these lyrics say it all:
The most beautiful sound I ever heard:
Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria . . .
All the beautiful sounds of the world in a single word. . .
Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria . . .
Maria!
I am forever grateful and am so blessed to be her granddaughter, forever in my heart, Maria.

Maria touched all of us in so many ways. I could not ask for a more Loving or Caring of a Grandmother than I had with her. She will be deeply missed. I will always remember her and all she did. I Love my Grandmother and always will.
