Dear Mary and Family,
It is with a very heavy heart that I write to express my deepest sympathies. I will hold all of you in my prayers and trust that your wonderful father, grandfather, husband and friend will be with you always ~ just a breath away.
Mr. Murtaugh walked the straight and narrow pathway to heaven with each and every step of his life on earth. May his honorable example shine brightly for all of those whom he loved so dearly.
God bless all of you,
Donna and Children

I remeber grandpop a lot. I remeber going to the park and when we first got there and right before we left he would push me on the swing. And we would always take walks together and when the holidays were close we would give each decorated house a number for how good it was. At night when I slept over we would watch quiz shows and try to guess the right anwser. Everytime I went over he called me his girlfriend.

My Father was a man who taught us by example. He believed that you help those less fortunate than yourself and he lived that throughout his life. As a child I remember my Father would pick up people walking along the side of the road. I don't know if he knew these people, but as children we would think, "Dad please don't pick up another smelly man". Now as an adult, I thank my Father for his kindness and compassion to all human beings. He taught us that even the people that most of the world just walk by and try to ignore, deserve to be treated with respect, kindness and compassion. I will never forget my Father's kindness, tenderness, caring and respect he had for my son Robert who was disabled and passed away in 1997. My Father took Robert for long walks almost every day. He bathed him while they listened to Big Band Music, he was so gentle and caring with Robert. He loved him unconditionally. I thank you Dad for all you did for me and my family. I thank you for your guidance and love. I love you with all my heart and I miss you tremendously. The world was a better place because of YOU.

Mrs. Murtaugh and "The Girls"
I was sorry to hear the news about Bernard. Although there are many years and miles between us, I just wanted you all to know you were in my thoughts.
They really don't make many like him any more. He will be missed.
Take care, all of you.
