Not having returned to NJ in a long time, I did not get to visit with Hughie in recent years. My memories of him, as we first cousins were growing up, are of a gentle happy young person. He could always make me smile. We are all the more blessed for having had him in our lives. My prayers are with you all at this time.

Although I haven't seen Hughie in many years I still remember the bright smile and the warm greetings he always had for his cousin from California at that time. I am sorry for the sadness that you all are feeling now, but glad that Hughie is now with Uncle and Aunt Sarah again. God Bless all of you.

Hugh will be missed by us all. He had that infectious smile and wide grin which touched everyone who knew and loved him. He is walking the streets of glory now, enjoying his reward. I remember his banter with my father, uncle Ed, when they would always ask that familiar question to each other, "what's up Doc?". He was a joy to anyone who met him and was fortunate enough to know him.

I always remember how pleasant he was. It makes me smile thinking of him watching the "Wizard of OZ". We are really sorry to hear of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Dr Seuss

It?s hard to think about Hughie without smiling. He was always cheerful and glad to see everybody. And everybody was always glad to see him. He had a way with people that was nothing short of amazing. If ever there was a people person, it was Hughie. He would always make you smile even when he was stretching the rules. You never saw anybody better at having that ?who me? look.
Although we are all very sad right now, in the future, every time we think of him all of us will have a smile, remembering something about Hughie that makes us happy.
Hughie, for somebody who wasn?t supposed to make it a month, you brought us 57 years of smiles. You?ll be missed by all of us. Danny Cullin

Hughie was one of the kindness people on this earth. He loved to play the shirt game, which he always won and then would giggle behind Liz asking her to protect him. I still see him sitting on the sofa, watching Billy Graham and getting just as involved as the crowd or hear him singing in the basement in his ?office?.
No one could be more trusted to care for his nieces and nephews. He would just lay on the floor and color, and the children just played all around him.
In the last couple weeks you told me Mom was taking a nap and Dad was playing golf, so now you can have a nap with Mom and or wait in your office for Dad.
We love you and will miss you.
God bless you. Love, Terry

Uncle Hugh holds a special place in all our hearts. We all feel such sadness for his passing because all the memories with him are so happy! The last happy memory was Uncle Hugh teasing my daughter Grace with finger puppets last summer. I will always remember the sweet and "sneaky" smile he had for all of us. The teasing fun is my favorite memory. The games he played with his mother Gram, with his nieces and nephews and now with his grand-nieces. I can always smile through the tears when I think about the very special man he was!

I'll miss your hugs and kisses. You were a great brother and even more, you were a great Uncle to all the kids. They loved to lay on your tummy and color pictures with you. I only wish the grandbabies could have that wonderful experience too. But now you're with Mom & Dad. You're happy and laughing. How we all loved that little giggle of yours.

Long before WalMart thought up their "Greeter," the Cullin Family had its own personal greeter, Hughie. Each of us was hugged and kissed, coming and going. And there were lots of comings and goings in those days!! As we got older, we saw each other less, but Hughie always knew who I was and called me by name. He would envelope me in his arms, give me a smacking kiss and his big, big smile-then move on to the next guest to be welcomed.
Hughie and my dad had a special relationship and there was always a lot of teasing going on. He gave as well as he got!! He was a sweet, gentle man and will never be forgotten. Cassie Mc Nulty Foster

Hughie, you always had the best smile and the biggest hug and we will miss you. You are with your Mom and Dad again and with my Dad Uncle Ed, who cherished you more than anyone.
