We are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Steve was always so upbeat and funny. I have many memories of him as I was growing up. You could always count on him for a joke to lighten up a serious moment. I will miss him very much.
Now my dad, Uncle Steve, Uncle Matty, Aunt Helen and Grandmom are together again and enjoying the rewards for the good works they did here. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Uncle Stevie
Throughout the dishes, talking, laughing and general roar that the family makes when together, you always managed to make yourself heard with the funniest joke, a good story and a kind word to those around you. Your hugs, your laugh and your smile would come through the door followed by the ?Uncle Stevie is here!!!? yell from one of us kids. Thank you for giving me a big ?HI KATIE!? and a hug whenever you saw me, whatever my age. You made me feel like a big deal no matter what! You are greatly missed,

Dear 2nd Family,
Mr Cerkez Dad had a huge impact on my childhood. He was always willing to take me along on the family camping trips as if taking 5 kids of your own along wasn't enough. His warm smile always said it all...you're welcome here, you are family. I'll never forget his "go for it" spirit...We were once setting up for volleyball at the campsite and I said I would watch I had a cast on at the time..he said watch, come over here, I can saw that thing off so you can play. He made me realize you can get in an play at anytime no matter what...needless to say, we didn't saw off the cast, but boy did I have some terrible shots in that game. Dad, thanks for all the great memories. Love, Kathi

I KNOW HE WILL BE DEEPLY MISSED BY MANY PEOPLE WHO LOVED HIM SO MUCH. JUST ALWAYS REMEMBER THE FUN AND LAUGHTER YOU HAD WITH HIM. PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES. MY FIRST MEMORY OF UNCLE STEVIE WAS THE WINTER YOU TWO WERE MARRIED & MY PARENTS BROUGHT US TO YOUR APARTMENT. MY FAVORITE MEMORY IS THAT HE WAS THE ONLY PERSON THAT EVER JUST WALKED IN OUR HOUSE WITHOUT KNOCKING. THIS HAPPENED OFTEN AT DINNERTIME. WE KIDS GOT TO THE POINT WHERE WE'D HEAR THE DOOR OPEN & SMILE AT EACH OTHER,BECAUSE WE KNEW HE BE AROUND THE CORNER ANY SECOND.THEN SAY 'HI KIDS'" COURSE HE'LL ALWAYS BE MR. FUN & GAMES. OVER THE LAST DECADE THROUGH CONVERSATIONS WE HAD I REALIZED WE SHARED THE SAME DEEP FAITH HIS MOTHER HAD. HE'LL BE MISSED ON JAN22 BUS TRIP. OF COURSE HE'LL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN NO ONE WHO HAS THAT MUCH LOVE EVER IS. IT'S NOT GOODBYE, IT'S LUCK-A-NUCHE" LOVE, ROSIE

I was one of the lucky nephews, as I grew up just a block around the corner from Uncle Steve and Aunt Nancy. I started a tradition of just stopping over when I was in grade school. Walking by their home, I would knock on the door, there was always a smile that said I was welcome and they were glad to see me. Years later Uncle Steve and I started playing tennis together and we gave each other some tough competition. I don't remember who won those games, I rememder swimming in his pool afterward getting some pretty good advice on how to approach life. Seven years ago I moved back to this old neighberhood and Uncle Steve and I started up our tradition of just stopping over each other's homes. We would talk about home projects, life and family, but what I will always rememder the most, was those eyes and smile that said he was really glad to see me. I hope he saw the same thing in mine.

Dad you are so much a part of me, with everything you taught me and the way you showed all of us how a good person should live their life, that right now I have a huge emptiness that I will have to fill with all the great memories you left us with. I love you so much and will continue to make you proud and will continue to ask myself, what would dad do before I make important decisions. Love ya! Craig, Carla and Cody

I knew Steve when my husband, Joe, myself and our daughter Joanne, attended St. Anne's Church awhile ago. Joanne made her Confirmation about a year after we left St. Anne's. I believe Steve was one of her CCD teachers. I think Steve was in St. Anne's Choir when I was. I would run into him at Shop Rite or other places and we would have a cordial conversation. He struck me as being very sweet and Godly. I was really shocked that he has passed and know he was always a "good and faithful servant" to God. He will be missed and God bless him.

I thank God for Uncle Stevie. I am most grateful for the honor of being his god-daughter. He not only imparted a true and living faith to me, but I know that his love and prayers covered me through some of the most difficult times of my life. He was my "go to" guy in questions about my CCD class, and a companion in protecting the innocent, the helpless, and those in need of mercy.
I know exactly what God said as He welcomed Steve into heaven. I know because so many of us heard it. With a big hug & smile, He said to Steve,
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
And I bet his Mom was smiling too.

Uncle Steve was an inspiration to all of us. He lived life the way it should be lived, no worries. He was so caring. He always lit up when someone he loved walked in the door. He had a great sense of humor, always had something funny to say. He was a wonderful family man and helped to raise one of the best families I've ever met. Uncle Steve will truly be missed!

I'll so miss my cousins E-mails and our differing points of view.
He exhibited honor through words and action for his love of family, God and country. There is no doubt that he was one of the good guys.
I send my love and respect for him and for the family.
Hey Steve. Just double check with God to make sure that he's not talking to George Bush.
Peace and respect and good humor,
Roman

Steve has something to say
In his glorious presence, I'm so tiny and small,
yet my spiritual joy is mighty and tall.
Being sinful and weak - I'm not worthy of him,
but because of his love, he forgives all my sins.
I don't know why - but I know that it's true,
because he told me Himself when he said "I love you".
His power is awesome and his beauty unique,
there is none other like Him, it's of Jesus I speak.
He's done great things throughout all of my life,
but the greatest He did, was give me my wife.
But I'm not alone, there's a lot more like me,
who have felt His touch and His works we did see.
He's the King of creation, yet He does much to please us,
and He reigns in my heart so I can say "I love Jesus".
He's the savior of the world and holy is His name,
I heard Him call and I'm glad I came.
He's the King of all Kings and I call Him my Lord,
because He's worthy to be loved and above all adored.
gonna miss you Steve,
Jack McGuire Men of Malvern

We didn't know him well, but that was the beautiful thing about Mr. Cerkez, you didn't have to know him well to feel accepted and loved,a beautiful trait that he has passed on through his family.
Our prayers are with you. A Mass will be said for the repose of Steve Cerkez by the Carmelite Monks at the Carmel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Clark, Wyoming.
May God give you comfort.
