Obituary of Joyce Oldson

Joyce Oldson, 74, of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed away at home on Monday, October 14, 2019.

Legacy

Joyce will be remembered most by those that knew her for her sincere compassion and empathy for others. If you cried she would cry with you.  She loved with all of her heart and would do anything for anyone.

Joyce liked listening to all types of music, but was a fan of rock music the most. During football season, you could find Joyce cheering on her favorite team, the Eagles. She loved to go shopping, especially for makeup and clothes and catching up regularly on the phone with the family and friends she loved.  Reminiscing of her teenage years and sharing stories of how much fun she had with her sisters growing up gave Joyce great happiness. During the 17 years she worked at Kmart she made many friends with her co-workers.   She was proud of making her house a home for those that she loved and for her dogs that she adored.  Joyce took pleasure in exercising routines and did so religiously.  She was a great secret-keeper, had a good heart and was known to be a little mischievous when she was younger.  Joyce's passing has left a void in those that knew and loved her, but her memories and legacy will live on forever.  She will be sorely missed. 

Family

She is the beloved Wife to John Oldson for 54 years; devoted mother to Jill Travis (Jr.) and Carla Gillies (Ed); dear sister to Patricia Murray (George), Jane Falabella (Al), Susan Leach (Ronald) and Francine Forgione (Tom); loving grandmother to Brittany (Brian), John, Taylor, Meghan and Kendall; special aunt to Suzanne Nelson (fiancé, David Hoolihan), Michael Falabella and great-aunt to Christopher, Brooklyn and David. Joyce is predeceased by her parents Mario and Frances Iaconi and niece Michele.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at the McGuinness Funeral Home - Woodbury, 34 Hunter Street. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1:00PM followed by interment at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Williamstown, NJ.
