I wanted to express my deepest sympathies to the families of both, Melissa Farah and Valerie Scythes. What a tragic story. Too many young mommies are dying at the hands of their physicians. There is too much inaccuracy and too many errors made.
On April 6, 2007 another young mother, Stephanie, died shortly after giving birth here in South Jersey at the Regional Medical Center because of an infection, Stephanie was given Tylenol to treat extreme pain. The infection had already passed to her newborn, who also passed away the same day.
Too often I hear ?My story gone Worse?. I was transferred from Underwood?s Maternity Ward in critical condition to University of Penn in March of 06, after a combined 3 months in the hospital between my son that I delivered and myself we both are still recovering. If I can help in anyway let me know. Again sorry for your loss.

Words can not express the grief I feel for you. I met Valerie only once at Melissa's baby shower. Valerie was a glowing new mom to be. When we arrived in town for Melissa's funeral we saw that Melissa had placed the Pooh bucket that Valerie hand painted for her in a special place in the nursery where it was prominently seen so that everytime she entered the room she would see it and remember Valerie. I will be praying for you to be comforted in this most horrible time and that you will find peace in the midst of this tragic storm. My utmost sympathy to you and Isabella Rose.

I will always remember you Valerie when I think of Melissa and when I see a Pooh bear.

I just met Valerie this year while working at Avon School. I will always have a picture in my mind of Val with a sports jersey on and an adorable matching hair bow. I will also remember how excited she was about having her baby girl. As she opened up each gift at her shower she would become even more and more excited. She had a way about her that made everyone in the room feel her positive energy. I will miss her bright and beautiful smile in the Teacher's lounge.

Dear Jim:
My Deepest Sympathies on the loss of Val. Even though I never met her personally, I know how much she meant to you and everyone else in your family just from the way you and Jason spoke of her during our time spent Golfing. With my own personal experiences, I have asked myself many, many times, why God does the things he does, and even though we will never know why, we must put our faith in his hands and believe that there is a reason. I strongly believe in the afterlife and I feel you will see & feel Val living through your precious, loving daughter.
Hang in there!!

There's a legend of a teardrop that rolled down a cheek one day, and it fell upon a tombstone where a family had gone to pray. And it sparkled like a diamond as it ventured toward the sod, and its brilliance was so startling that it caught the eye of God.
That teardrop, born of sorrow for Valerie who had died, was shed in grief and sadness by her family who had cried.
But it had a special meaning to the Father up above, for that teardrop was just loaded with all her family's love.
In its loving sparkling brilliance God recalled the teardrop home, and he showed Valerie, who no more on earth would roam.
Then God took that brilliant teardrop shed in love on earth afar, and he placed it in the heavens with His brightest morning star.
So when you look into the heavens where ten million stars are spread, you may see a lovely teardrop that in sorrow you have shed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone at this time. Aunt Val was truely an Angel on earth. I have lots of good memories that I will never forget, and beautiful paintings that she made for me and my family that I will always cherish. I didn't want to let her go, I loved and still do love her so much, but God has given me the strenght and peace that she is ok and I know she's in Heaven and will be enjoying every second of her daughters' life along with Jim and family. She will never be forgotten. And just wait and see Isabella will bring the best of Val out through her, I know she's gonna be just as wonderful, loving, caring, kind, beautiful, & as crafty as her mother. To have such sorrow to be offset by the extreme joy of your new baby girl. You were very fortunate to have such a long and wonderful relationship with someone who was truly special. Dear loving family of Valerie,
Although I did not personally know Valerie, I knew of her. It is with my deepest sincerity that I would express my sympathy to you and your family. The loss of your loved one is felt most by those of you who have loved and know her in her lifetime, but there are those people on the periphery of her life, who also shed tears because they recognize the loss through their own experiences. More than anything, we want to know that our loved one made a difference in this world. I can tell you that just in the knowing of Valerie and of her loss my life has been touched. Perhaps to remind me to hold my own children closer, to value my friendships more, or to be more thoughtful and caring to those around me. I pray that God will be with you in this time and that you will know a peace and comfort that comes from those who are there to love and support you.
