Seen this and thought of Russie :
My First Christmas in Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees
around the world below with tiny lights, like Heaven's stars,
reflecting on the snow
The sight is so spectacular,
please wipe away the tear for I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs
that people hold so dear but the sounds of music can't compare
with the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring, for it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart.
But I am not so far away, We really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones,
You know I hold you dear. And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent you each a special gift,
from my heavenly home above. I sent you each a memory of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold. Was always most important the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other,
my Father said to do. I can't count the blessing or love has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas and
Wipe away that tear Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

hey Uncle Russy
i know i never really got to spend a lot of time with you or anything. not like the rest of the family. but the times i did get to see u or talk to u made me feel really good because you were one of the few who would actually talk to me and make me feel like part of the family. my brother shares the same thoughts too. u will be greatly missed. not just as a bartender, but as an awesome uncle. we love u very much. and tell Poppy i said hi up there.

Russie,
I will always remember the snowball fights we had back the house 38 years ago. It would be the Rementer boys against the Rementer girls and me a future Rementer. I will never hear "you" tell the "tuna sandwich" story again. After all these years and all the Christmas dinners you ate at our home I never could redeem myself from making you a tuna sandwich for dinner. I will miss your smiling face saying "Good morning Mrs. Rementer" and helping me to carry anything I had no matter how small it was. I will miss and love you always.

Uncle Russ,
We always knew you were coming in to work rollin' around 10 or so? when we'd hear that bike roaring in - not an everyday sound at our particular workplace! You always had a smile on your face, always ready to ask "how's the baby?". Anwen used to love when you'd tease her with the "ruler" - thanks for bringing her and us smiles and laughs. I wish I had gotten to know you better earlier in my life, but I'm happy and grateful I got to know you over the last few years. Thanks for making me realize it's okay sometimes! not to take life so seriously, and appreciate people who do just that. I'll miss you - Love, Rachel
