God granted me a special gift starting in July. That gift was the time and ability to witness the passing of Joseph Neilio. In the weeks prior to him being ushered into the Lords' Kingdom, I had the privilege of hearing stories and reflections of memories of his life; life in the service. His life as a husband, father, worker at Hercules as owner of the business, politician, church leader, friend, grandfather, and great grandfather. Joe was my grandfather in-law, however because I never had a chance to know my own grandparents Joe and Myrtle loved me like one of their own.
Looking back on Pop-Pop's life has had a life changing effect on me. Pop-Pop never became a big and powerful politician or a huge financial successful business owner, why? Well it's very hard to become a thriving business owner when you refuse to bill your customers for oil or a service call because it's the holidays or your customer has small children, or they are sick or just because. Likewise it is a rare breed of politician that will refuse to compromise his values or harm another. Who speaks only the truth and is not willing to be ruthless and cut throat to get ahead. Pop-Pop wasn't looking to accumulate riches, fame or notoriety here on earth. He was building his treasures in heaven.
Joe Neilio did not walk against the wind in his last days. He had his family, friends and most important his Lord and Savior. He knew God is not to blame for our failures. God left us a map and instructions for the journey. His Word is our map. The Holy Spirit is our compass. He even told us what to pack for the trip; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Check it out in Galatians 5:22-23. See Pop-Pop knew there were special promises to keep him on his journey. Here is one of the best "There are many rooms in my Father?s house." Joe Neilio would want you to know there is a choice to make. That is whether or not you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior. Is your Father preparing a place you!
We love you Poppy!

The Dick family would like send our good wishes to Joe's family at the time of your great loss.
I only knew Joe through my Dad, Frank R. Dick Jr.;but, I saw how Dad always smiled when he saw Joe and how they two of them would laugh and joke with each other.
Dad always said that Joe was a good man.

Mrs. Nelio and Family,
I wanted to say that I am sorry for your loss. Mr. Nelio was truly a Man of God. I believe that his last breadth on earth became his first breadth in Heaven. He had a major impact on my spiritual life. I cannot begin to count the number of times that I looked forward to going to church so that I could hang out with Mr. Nelio. He and I would pass out bulletins to everyone, greet people at the door, he would lift me up to ring the bell, and how many times did we talk about the Phillies. I believe he will persuade God to help the Phillies win the World Series next year.
As a small tribute, Kelly and I will be giving two couples from our church gift cards to a local restaurant in remembrance of Mr. Nelio and as thanks to all of you for what you have meant to me. The first couple, Larry and Annette, are greeters at our church. They are the first people to arrive at church and the last ones to leave. They have big hearts and a way of making everyone feel special. The second couple, Dave and Bree, run the children?s ministry at our church. I hope that they will have the same kind of impact on my kid?s lives as all of you have had on mine.
Love,
Tom and Kelly Hudnall

Dear Family,
We want to express our condolences over the loss of Joe; whether he was your husband, father, father in-law, brother, grandfather, or great grandfather; whatever role he played in your life we are sure he touched your life in some way special. Though we did not know him well we observed his quiet and gentle spirit. It was evident that he loved the Lord. We pray that the Lord Jesus would comfort you in your loss. May you find comfort in the memories that you have of him and may you celebrate his life. Praise the Lord for His grace that led to his salvation. May you be comforted knowing he is now in the presence of Jesus.
Blessings, comfort, and peace to you all,
Joe and Julie Pryzbylkowski

Dear Family of Joe, What a great guy your husband and dad was. He truly lived his Faith in Christ and treated others with love and compassion. He was quite a living example of living Christ daily. We will miss that smiling face and warm personality but He has already seen his Lord and Savior. He ran the race and has been given his prize to see his Lord face to face. We have this hope and we know it to be true so be happy knowing that Joe is at peace and free from the body and free in the Spirit. May the Lord bless you and encourage you and strengthen you in the days to come. I am glad I knew Joe and I thank God I did. In Jesus Love Nancy Lorup
