I will always remember my Aunt Joan as a gracious, sacrificing woman who seemed to be always in charge, even though she rarely let me think she was. My visits with her were never without a tuna fish sandwich, some mean dog biting my heals except for Taffy, and a keen interest in how we were doing so far away. She was so patient in listening to Uncle Johns' stories, as he told them to me over and over again. She was so precious as she cared for stray dogs & cats, the birds, the bunnies, the deer, and who knows how many more of Gods' creatures He put in her stead. She was so loving as she kissed me, the exact same way everytime I saw her, with her hands on each side of my cheek. I am so lucky.
