You two girls won't remember us, but we were your neighbors a long, long time ago when you were just little ones. Mom called me just today and told me of Floss' passing and I was and still am in shock. Regretfully we lost touch and I had no idea she was ill. I ran into your mom at Ciconte's pizza, gosh probably 5+ years ago and we laughed and joked just like old times. I regret not keeping in touch w/her as she truly was a special person. Obviously this illness she had was devastating, and we are all so sorry for your loss, but it is clear to me after reading all the lovely things that people say about her, she had a purpose in life to make those who knew her all the better for just having met her.
Jim, our thoughts & prayers go out to you and the girls at this difficult time.

I first "met" Flo in the breastcancer.org chatroom soon after my BC diagnosis in Oct. 2003. No matter what she was going through, Flo always encouraged me to continue the fight. Just having her with us on the chatroom was so uplifting. I fondly remember her sending me a pink T-shirt, which I will always treasure. She was truly a remarkable person. My thoughts and prayers are with the Mink family.

I want to say how sorry I am for all of you. I am one of the fortunate people who met Flo in the Breastcancer chat room. I came into the room last Spring just before the Mother's Day walk. Flo told me that she and her family were walking and I said that I was too. You see my family and I are originally from Philly. I told her that although I wouldn't see her there I was going to be happy to know we were both there.
She was amazingly warm and wonderful to me. I was 39 at my dx. and scared to death. She told me that we are all the in the same boat and she promised that if I kept coming to the room I would feel better. And Flo was right. I am sad that she had to leave but I am happy to know that you all have a new Angel you can call by name. My heart and prayers go out to all of you.

Flo will always hold a special meaning to those around her that she has touched. I met Flossie on Brestcancer.org she was always an inspiration for everyone. The dearest memories that I have with Flo is the time that myself and 12 other ladies spent in NJ with her. Flo went out of her way to make sure that everything was planned out and just right. We all enjoyed throwing rocks, eating, dancing at the crab trap, learning the "mummer's strut" and the mummer's band. Not until that weekend did I realize that having breast cancer was a privilidge. If I had not had breast cancer I would have never met one of the most wonderful women in the world who had something special to share with everyone.

Flo is now in a place where she can find all the rare Wildwood postcards that eluded her in this life.
We will miss her zest for life, her humor, her always reaching out to others, and her wonderful spirit of adventure in the hunt for those rare cards.
She was generous to a fault.
I'll never forget her initiating an email to me, after she noticed that we kept bidding against each other on eBay. And, for the bids that she won, she reached out and offered me some cards that she had extras of.
Flo had a gift of lighting up any room that she walked into. Everyone knew her at the Mt. Laurel postcard show where we finally face-to-face in May 2003 and at the Wildwood Historical Society post card show last winter!
Flo has a wonderful sense of humor. She said that we were like book-ends - she in Anglesea and me in Diamond Beach.
Please regard this as a special tribute from a fellow post card collector and from a member of the Flo Mink Fan Club,
Chris White

I am saddened to learn of Flo's passing. She was a warrior, and trooper during her battle with this disease. It was a blessing to be able to share that week in NJ with Flo and all of those that were there. I know we will see Flo again in heaven, and I know that she is already rejoicing in being whole, healthy and complete again. May God be with you and comfort you as you go through this loss.
Sincerely, Lindsey

Flossie and I have been friends since we were teenagers. Like so many friends, we drifted apart to raise our families and about 30 years later, we met again, by chance in N. Wildwood. It was like we were never apart all those years. We even started a website together in an attempt to reach out to our friends from when we were kids. I believe that it was destiny that we reconnected and I am so happy to have had these past few years getting close again. Floss was always a character, never afraid to take chances and always up for a dare. She was still that way until the end. Jim, Jen and Kim, she treasured her family and my heartfelt condolences are with you all. Ava, your grandmom loved you beyond words, why else would she wear those silly party hats all the time? Jim, your total devotion in the end was remarkable and you have two exceptional daughters. I have never met anyone with the kind of strength that Flossie had and I am glad that we were close enough to be able to spend some of her last days together - she was and always will be an inspiration to me. She touched so many lives with her strength and humor. Just thinking about her makes me smile and that's the memory that I will have forever. Flossie, we will have another chance meeting again someday, I'm sure of it. Love you, Carol

I never "met" Flo online at bco, but ever since I first went into the chat rooms in Sept 2005, I would hear people talking about her. She was one of the trailblazers on that site, helping woman face their fears about breast cancer, and just making sure we had a safe place to go and talk things over. From the tributes I heard while Flo was alive, and those I've read since her passing, I wish we had met. I know we would have been friends. I extend my sympathy to her family for their loss.

I first met Flo in the bco chat room shortly after I was first diagnosed w/ breast cancer. She was very very kind to me at one of the most difficult times in my life. My favorite memory of Flo will be the joy and the anticipation that she had with the birth of her granddaughter. I am so glad I got to know her, even for the short time that I did.
She was a most magnificant person.

It is not often you meet a person that can make such an impact on your life. That is exactly what happened with Flo. Flo and I met in the breastcancer.org chat room and immediately bonded and had so many laughs together with all the women of our sisterhood. I can look around my office and home and see little reminders of my trip to New Jersey to meet Flo in the Summer of 2004. There are no words that can describe that week. Right now as I sit here I am thinking and picturing all of us standing on the big rock across from Flo and Jim's house and throwing stones into the ocean with cancer words on them. A poem that Flo once sent all of us had a line in it that I keep close to me to get me through times like these....I was given many new friends, wonderful, courageous women I am so very proud to know, Flo was the Bravest Woman I know.
Love always and forever,
Jules from Texas

I have fond memories of Flo from the bcsupport on line group. During my time of breast cancer she was so kind to answer questions, look up references, and just be a good friend. She was a real addition to the support group on line and will be missed. My sympathy to her daughters, husband, family members, and friends.

My deepest sympathy to Jim, Jennifer and Jim and extended family. I met Flo on www.breastcancer.org back in 2004.
She always had such kind words. I met her in person in June 2003 when we went to her Beach Party.
We all had so much fun, we all knew that it was a once in a lifetime week. I will always have Flo in my heart.
Love, Karen

I am so sorry, what a loving, compassionate person Flo was. Just a few weeks ago, as ill as she was she was expressing her sympathy to me in the loss of my husband. I never got to meet her but she touched my life in a way that I will never forget her. I have Ava's magnet on my refrigerator and I treasure it because of the person Flo was and oh how she loved that baby. I will keep the family in my prayers and pray that you may find comfort in knowing that she is now walking the streets of Gold...Oh what a Savior. God Bless You

I met Flo online back in 2003/2004. What a joy it was each time to chat with her.Flo shared such wit and strength with us all in chat.
The special bond so many of us were able to share, can never be adequately placed into words...it was an inner knowing and love that I felt.
I was not able to make the trip to NJ to meet Flo in person, but she made me still feel like I was such a part of being there.
I have the special blue dragonfly napkin holders that Flo sent me, as well as the note holder for my desk. I will laways cherish these gifts.
Flo has shown me how to make the most of each and every day, and to take ahold of any opportunity that presents itself.
I will continue to work in advancing information and education to other women in hopes of eliminating the mortality of this disease.
It has been an honor knowing Flo, for she was one of those special people that will always leave an imprint on my heart and soul.
Wishing her family peace and solace during this difficult time.
With Love
