Although I grew up on South Girard and Ruth lived on North Girard, I never knew her until I was a teenager working in the checkroom at Wenonah Swim Club. Everytime she walked past the checkroom I would think what a regal looking, classy woman. Then many years passed and I hadn't seen her. I was fortunate enough to become reaquainted with her and Bob through our friends, Jobe and Denise DeHart. My husband, Paul, and I attended many barbecues and parties and shared a lot of laughs, stories and good times with a woman who was still so regal and classy. We were very lucky to have know her.

Ruth will always hold a special place in my heart. She was a "grandmother" to me after my dear Gram and grandma passed away. I have so many wonderful memories of her and will always be grateful to her for her love toward the DeHarts.

Ruth was such a special person and I know that saying "special" does not convey all the meaning that I have behind that word. She was always a part of our family for as long as I can remember. I remember being a little girl and going to see the Nutcracker with her and my Gram Clara at the Philadelphia Academy of Music. These were such special times that I still cherish to this day.
Ruth had such a quiet manner about her, but she spoke volumes with her wisdom and foresight. I respected her so much as a person, loved her as a family member, and will miss her terribly.

Ruth was special not only to us but also to my children, Justin & Haiven.
There aren't enough words to describe how much we thought of Ruth. She was very much loved and a special part of our family. When she came into my grandfather's life she not only made him happy again, but also brought laughter and happiness to all of our family. Our memories of her will live on and we will always smile and feel her warmth when we ever think of her.

As all of you who knew Ruth, there are countless stories that most of us could recite of how she has impacted our lives. Because for Ruth, making other people happy and putting them before herself was her priority. That was Ruth.
Not everyone is as fortunate to have had someone like Ruth touch their life. Friendships start with mutual respect, but lasting friendships develop into more than just respect. It is sometimes through friendships we grow to love that person. I believe that Ruth had that type of relationship with her friends. Ruth was one of those special people who reached out to everyone. She touched our lives so profoundly that she became our friend.
Ruth was a person of integrity with great compassion for others. She had a tireless gift of wanting to always be there when someone was in need...whatever that need may have been. An aura of calming peacefulness always seemed to surround her. She gave of herself freely always showing compassion, encouragement, and understanding. Ruth?s inner wisdom was almost like a whisper, it was never boastful. Ruth taught many of us how to become a better person through example.
She was not only a dear friend of mine but also someone who impacted my life in which no other could ever accomplish. She was like a grandmother to my children and a great grandmother to my Grandchildren. I feel my family has been blessed to know her not only as a friend but also as part of my Florida family.
I recently heard someone say that we are not human beings having a spiritual experience.........we are all spiritual beings having a human experience. For me Ruth is not gone but will remain in my heart forever.
