It is very important to pray for others, because when you pray for someone, an angel goes and sits on the shoulder of that person.

Dear John and Family,
My most sincere prayers for each of you during this most difficult time. Cousin Lorraine was a very special person who just radiated God's joy in all that she did. My brother Johnny and I have many happy memories of playing with our cousins on Massey Street - and the birthday parties for Lorraine and Johnny that went on even when we had a blizzard!
I know Lorraine will look after each of you in a special way. She is our 'angel' in heaven now!

Dear John and Family,
We were so sorry to hear of the passing of your wife and mother. I'm sure you take solace in the fact that she's in a much better place now and free from pain. I know it's been a long and painful journey for you. I remember her as a lovely person, my special memory is when she and I weeded the garden at the bed and breakfast when her daughter Michelle and our son, Todd got married. It turned out to be a lovely wedding. God bless and we will keep you in our prayers.

Dear John and Family,
My heart broke when I received the news that Lorraine had passed. We were cousins and in our childhood spent many many happy times together. Lorraine was the "sweet" one, quiet and shy, most like her mother Mary, my father Stephen's sister, and always fun to be with. As the years passed our lives took us in separate directions. How blessed I feel now that just a little over a year ago I got to be with Lorraine at a family gathering and we so comfortably picked up right where we left off. To know her as a woman was a gift to me. The first thing that struck me after all those years was she was still "sweet" but had developed an incredible sense of humor. We laughed so much that weekend looking at old photos and reminiscing.
I know your family has suffered an incredible loss. She was a treasure.
My love and deepest sympathy,
Bernadette Baker Nealis

Dear John and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. At times like these I often think of a quote from Shakespeare that has stayed with me for many years. It is simply that you remember: "Shared joy is twice the joy; and shared sorrow is half the sorrow." We share in your sorrow and hope that in some small way you find it a comfort.
Sincerely,
Cousin Walt Butch and family.

Dear Uncle John and family,
Your loss is hearbreaking to me and my thought and prayers are with all of you at this time.
My memories of Aunt Lorraine are of her unending bravery and strength. Her many battles in life were met quietly and with unwavering hope for the future. In her work she would take care of others and she truly enjoyed the gift of giving. She had a special gift with children and always made any around her feel loved and welcomed in her presence. Joe and Tina especially remember her for her talks with them.
I feel her greatest legacy was raising her children with you. Like her, they are the next generation of caring people who also enjoy the gift of giving and caring for others.
I would like to think of her up in heaven with my Grandmother and Grandfather standing with her and all of the angels looking down on us. I know Aunt Lorraine is still caring about us and guiding us on our path to heaven, still enjoying the gift of giving.

When I think of Mrs. Leach I think of a strong women. She helped me take better care of myself by what she had said to me when she survived breast cancer.
The funniest thing to me is when I came over to visit Jackie my best friendand sat on the catch. Their cat ginger started purring at me. Mrs. Leach said, " I wouldn't sit there if I were you that is ginger's spot." Meanwhile the whole family was sitting on the floor while the cat was sitting on the couch. It really cracked me up.

To The family of Lorraine:
You have an angel to look over you.
Your tears of sorrow are understandable but take joy in the fact that you were the family she loved and treasured. She is looking down on you and is saying" My friends and family I'm free of pain and my fears are gone, I'm with the Lord and I'll always be with you, Smile for me and know I love each of you in a special way."

I'm so sorry for your loss. Remembering what St. Augustine said on the death of his mother gives me solace. He said, "Grieve not for her passing, but be thankful for having known her." I have wonderful memories of growing up next door to the Abbotts. Lorraine was always a kind, loving and generous child who I'm sure grew even more kind and loving as an adult. I will keep all of you in my prayers.
