Gratitude fills my heart even more than the sorrow of this loss. The sight of the Marines who came to honor my Father, the precision of his service and attention to detail were visible affirmation of his devotion to his country and to us. As a child he was the Daddy who would always make things right. As I grew, I realized how important the role of a parent has to be. As he grew... I got the chance to let him know how much I loved him. I think he knows how much he meant to all of my family. We are grateful to all of you as well who have left messages of condolence.

The things that I remember most about Uncle Mac, or as he was most effectionately known as "W.G" are the Christmas holidays, and the fishing trips that his nephew Johnnie, to whom I was married to, and I took with him. The fun that we had never seemed to end, and the one time that I caught a 9 lb Weakie, he was so proud for me, and insisted that Aunt Patty take my picture, and then laughed so hard when I had to put my hand in a sandwich baggy before I would put my hand into the gills of the fish. And Christmas Eve was always a special time. Aunt Patty always loved to decorate. Everyone was always together. It was a tradition to be at Uncle Mac's and Aunt Patty's on Christmas Eve. Everyone's troubles were gone for that night. But what I will never forget is the strength that he gave to me when I lost Johnnie. His death came so sudden and I was at a lost as to what to do or to where to go, and he and Aunt Patty were there with me every step of the way, and I know in my heart that I could not faired as well as I did. Uncle Mac got along with everyone he met. He and my current husband would enjoy many conversations about fishing, and politics. He never lost his smile or his determination. It breaks my heart to know that they are both gone, but I have a ton of special memories that will live on forever in my heart. I'm sure gonna miss you Uncle Mac, and will always love you.

Both Mr and Mrs McLamb were special to me, like second parents. Pam and I went through school together and was always at each others house.
When I look back,I have fond memories of them, they were sweet, kind, and yet sturn, I enjoyed being around them and all their children.
They will be sorely missed, and there will always be a tender, empty place in my heart for them.
Love to all,
Pat Bentley

spring and summer were our favorite times to be Mac's neighbors. To be able to look out and see his beautiful flowers and to get his gardening advice. Along with the advice came plants. Mac will always be a part of our garden forever.

Ed and I knew Warren from driving for Carter L/M and Tom Gogel Ford.
He was a terrific person and a good friend. We took a lot of trips together and we really enjoyed him and his sense of humor.. He always looked out for me and made me feel safe. He would do anything for you if he could. I just saw him about a month ago in Lowes and he was looking for something for a neighbor. He told me he was sick but that he was fighting it as long as he could. I got to give him a hug before he left. I'm sure glad I got to see him one more time. We will miss him.

I can still remember Mr. McLamb playing cards with my father on the weekends. I remember the smell of the cigar smoke floating above the kitchen table as they played far into the night! Remembering Mr. McLamb brings back memories of my own father who passed away in 1978; it is sad that both of them are no longer with us.
My heart and prayers go out to the entire McLamb family. I know that it is hard to lose someone that you loved, especially a parent; but at least your father is now free from the suffering and pain that was so much a part of his recent life.

My earlier memories include pajamas, coloring books, crayons and graham crackers and milk!
My later memories include "moon plants" opening at 8:20pm and Magnolia Plants.
He gave me Sisters and a Family
He taught me discipline to succeed, strength to survive, and courage to overcome obstacles .
He was many things to many people but to me he was who I knew as "Dad".
