I was a close buddy of Richards in basic training and then in Vietnam.
We shared the same tent and bunked next to each other throughout our time in the service. We had some real laughs together and my only regret is that we didn't keep our friendship alive after 1967. We were planning to ride together this summer but ran out of time............

I have known and loved Rich for over fifty years. He was the most loving, moral, giving and funniest man I have ever known. He loved our children and grandchildren with a passion you don't see too often. He had many friends who loved him and he loved as well. He was truly a one of a kind man who will always be remembered as "Sgt. Rock" a kind and gentle soul.

Rich was a great guy. I worked with his former wife Linda at Blackwell North America before I moved from NJ to Florida. He helped me get my motorcycle inspected one time because I didn't have a motorcycle license. He was really nice. My sincere condolences to the family.

Working as a Patrolman for Deptford Township Police Department, I was honored to serve under your command. It was easy to respect your character for being clear and direct. I pray for the family and friends that will miss you most and may God be with your soul.

with deepest sympathy for your loss.being a lifetime resident of deptford toownship i had the privelidge to gro up under the caring supervision of what i think i deptford's finest police squad, with richie being one of the "cool" cops always had time for a conversation and words of wisdom. i had no idea of his services in the u.s. military, although i'm not surprised he was a good man and a great cop, i thank you for being there for the kids of deptford and fighting for our freedom. You will be missed and remembered.
