Obituary of Herbert Blessing

Herbert L. "Red" Blessing of Mantua, NJ formerly of Woodbury, died on May 7, 2005. Aged 85 years. He is the beloved husband of the late Frances, devoted father of Warren and his wife, Suzanne, Loving grandfather of Warren and David, dear brother of Frank and his wife, Kathleen and the late Alfred "Ike". Mr. Blessing was born in Flint, MI in l920, grew up and attended school in Grand Blanc, MI. He was drfted into the Army in l941, serving 5 1/2 years and was actrive with the 503 Anti - Aircraft Battallions and Island jumping in the Pacific Theater. Upon his discharge in l946, her attained the rank of Captain. Frances and her were married in l946. He graduated Temple University, Philadelphia in l950 obtaining his Bachelor's Degree. Most of his life was spent wuth Struthers and Dunn, Pitman, NJ where her served as treasurer for 13years prior to his retirement in l983. Herbert was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, president of Credit Management Assoc. Philadelphia, chairman of the South Jersey Manufacturing Assoc., President of the Financial Management Assoc of Philadelphia and a member of the New Jersey Employers Legislatures Commitee. Viewing Wednesday 6:30 to 9 PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home 34 HunterSt. Woodbury, NJ. Funeral Mass Thursday 10 Am in St. Patrick R. C. Church. Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
