Wong Tong Billy Byers:
I remember the first time meeting you at Gateway H.S. 1964!! I knew right then and there that we would be good friends. We did alot of things together..Sometimes not always the RIGHT things!! But whatever we did, we always had a good time! If there is a hereafter, save me a spot next to you and once again we can joke and laugh about the good old days..You are missed and in my prayers.. I wish Connie, Billy Jr., Susie and their families comfort in knowing how much Billy was really loved..
Anything I can do, please let me know..
Love,
Danny Pizzutillo

Please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of your husband and father. There are no words that will comfort you in your time of loss. Only know that time does heal some of the hurt. Your husband is at peace and is no longer suffering. Connie, please know that if you ever need to talk I am willing to listen.

Connie & Family. Beav was a gentle, caring, sensitive man and a good friend. He always had us laughing. You couldn't be sad when he was around. We will cherish our memories with him especially boating at Skip Jacks and our nicknames that he gave us. We are going to miss him tremendously. Love Gilligan and Clutch

Dear Connie, Billy & Susie & families,
I am so sorry for your loss, I don't know where to start to say my feelings. I think I could write a book about him.
We go back to Westville days, to childhood, to grade school, even Mrs Byers was one of our school crossing guards. and I remember that he never went to school when it rained/flooded
Thru all the years Bill always had the best sense of humor. There was always plenty of fun & laughter.
Since we were teenagers he was always in love with Connie. And since then of course Billy, Susie & now your kids were so important to him. His family was very special!!
And he was such a special person.
I'm sure by now he has met up with Freddie Bauer & Billy Taylor & the 3 of them are together in heaven. watching football, drinking a beer & looking for a 57 chevy
Cherish all your memories, we have so many. And just remember that your husband/father/grandfather really loved you all so much!!
God Bless you Bill, I will really miss you.
Love, Chris

I will always have fond memories of my friend Bill. Thinking of him will always bring a smile to my face because no matter how I felt that day he could make me laugh. Sometimes laugh so hard that my stomach muscles would hurt. He was genuine and honest and always made you feel like you were his "best friend". To him I was "Gidget", a nickname he gave me based on a character. I think Bill gave most of us nicknames his boating buddies that we identified with. Bill himself was a character and I will miss him. I will miss the laughs we shared, his quirky personality and his readiness to be your friend. I will hold him forever in my heart!

Through the years we came to know this man as "Beaver". He was a family man who loved his wife, his children and his grandchildren. He was a simple man who enjoyed life and being with his friends. Bill was a friend to everyone and everyone's friend. What you saw was what got. He loved his boat and being on the water. Some of our best times have been with Connie and Bill on our boating trips. Wonderful, unforgettable memories! Bill was a man of many faces, many costumes and an uncanny sense of humor. But he was also sensitive and sincere. He stood firm in what he believed and would sometimes challenge you if you disagreed. But always in fun. He said what he meant and meant what he said. But that was Bill, always making a statement. And always looking for someone to disagree with him. That's why we loved Bill. That's why we will truly miss him. He was much more than a friend to us and his memory will live in our hearts forever.
