Obituary of John J. O'Leary

O?Leary, John J. , 86, died at home on Dec. 3, 2004. Born in Gloucester City, he moved to Gibbstown in 1963. He was devoted to family, church and country. John was a WWII Army Veteran serving in Europe. He is a Purple Heart recipient with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and a Bronze Star. John received the NJ Veterans Medal of Gloucester County. He was a proud member of VFW Post 5579 in Gibbstown. John was a member of St. Michael?s Church, Gibbstown. He worked as supervisor at Monsanto Co. in Bridgeport for 20 years before retiring in 1983. John is survived by his loving wife Alberta ?Babe? nee Wetzel and was a devoted father to 9 children: Patricia Charles Collins of Gibbstown, Rev. John O?Leary of Atco, James Maggie O?Leary of Allentown, PA, Judy Robert Schroeder of Renton, WA, Michael Barbara O?Leary of Mantua, David O?Leary of Worcester, MA, Regina Michael Mushrock of Stockton, Paul Colleen O?Leary of Wappingers Falls, NY and Susan John Licciardello of Swedesboro. John has 24 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He also has a brother , Francis Joyce of North Carolina and sisters Jean Soder of Gloucester City and Margaret Michael D?Alessandro of Stratford. Viewing Monday, December 6, from 6 ?8 PM In St. Michael?s Church, Memorial Ave., Gibbstown. Funeral Mass 8 PM in the church. Interment Private.
