We started our young lives together at the ripe age of four when we became neighbors. We started kindergarten together and sat on my swings and cried together when your mom died. Though we lost touch the last years, my loss, I'll always cherish the memories of so very long ago. You were always someone special, always will be in my memories.

A Poem for my Gram I LOVE U!
For every day you're gone,
There's another child born.
But they'll never be you,
And no one will ever take your place.
For every day your gone,
My heart breaks again,
You were taken way too soon,
We thought we still had time.
You kept us in the dark,
To spare us broken hearts,
But the end result was just the same.
Robbed of life,
Taken flight,
And we haven't been told why.
Doctors lie and ur husband and grand children cry,
And I'm just trying to survive.
They say you're in a better place,
And you're in no more pain.
I hope to God they're right for ur sake,
But it doesn't change a thing.
It doesn't make this easy,
It'll never make this right.
We know you're efforts were amazing,
But u fought a losing fight.

We moved to this state, alone. We had no family, no friends, no personal acquaintenances to speak of. There you were. You stepped into our lives, helped us care for our children while we worked, and became part of our family effortlessly.
We will miss you Betty. The "Sponge Bob" christmas sweatshirts will forever be a reminder of your talent, your love and your humor.
