From the Welsh Family, Mike, Amanda and Emma, we send our deepest condolences. Our daughter Emma was in the NICU with Sami for 3 months; we had an opportunity to see what a special girl Sami was and what loving, caring parents Lorie and Mike were to her. We will miss her and truly regret that Emma will not get a chance to meet her roommate.

Lori and Mike,
I can't begin to know the pain you are feeling at this time, but I hope it helps to know that Sami was loved by many people and will be missed greatly. Reading these condolences only proves how many lives she touched in her short life. Be proud of your parenting these past five months-rarely have I seen such dedication to not only your child, but to other parents in the NICU. I'll miss hanging out in her room or my closet, as I liked to call it. You both will be in my prayers.
Love,
Karen Bonn Aunt KK

Lorie & Mike,
I cannot express in words how truly sorry I am for your loss and how much Sami will be missed, not only by all of you...but all of us at CHOP as well. I am sure I speak not only for myself when I say that Sami, as well as the two of you, hold a very special places in the hearts of many of her nurses. It was always a pleasure to care for Sami...even when she wasn't always on her best behavior. And I can honestly say that I feel truly blessed to have been able to be with Sami in her greatest time of need. I only wish I could have done more. Sami will be truly missed by many, and she is TRULY now your little angel up above. With my deepest heartfelt sympathy and love...Michelle...a.k.a. "M&M"

Dear Lorie & Mike,
We are so very sorry for the loss of little miss Sami! She will always hold a special place in our hearts and memories of our time at CHOP, as will the two of you. You were the first ones to open your hearts to us upon our arrival to the NICU and lend us your support. You were always there to encourage us during our rough days. We only hope we can offer you the same now. It's crazy how God brings people together sometimes, knowing just what each of us need at that time in our lives. You were always there to share your smiles and newest story of Sami and her little "attitude" that day. She was such a funny little girl and an amazing fighter. I know she got that quality from her parents as is evident in the amazing courage you showed in saying goodbye when she needed you to. You are incredible parents and the 3 of you were equally blest to have each other. Heaven, and God, are lucky to have such a precious angel among them. We are all lucky to have known her in life and to have her looking down on us now. God bless you all!
Love,
Cassie, Dave, Kaitlyn, & Carter

I have cried many a tear over the loss of little Sami. The valentine she gave Nathan decorates our memory box from Philadelphia. We will think of you as often as we look at our box. You are such a special family. Little Sami's life, though seemingly so short, was full of purpose. That little girl brought many people together and brought joy with her little personality. We miss you guys and love you. We are praying for peace and strength for you. God is near and He will take care of you. Love your Tallahassee friends, Mike and Cari Gelderman
