My Uncle Nick was a wonderful man. I remember him always having a sunny disposition, no matter when I saw him. It's hard to believe that he's left us so soon. He will always be missed, until the day we are reunited. Rest in peace Uncle Nick, and we love you.

Just about every sunny summer Sunday, we would get into our car and head down to Aunt Pat and Uncle Nick's house for swimming, grilling and family fun. I can remember Uncle Nick preparing the grill for burgers and dogs and the countless times we asked him to retrieve our pool toys so that we didn't get our feet sandy. And he was always there. Never preoccupied. Never put out. We each have different memories of our loving Nicholas, and for me they are even brighter now than before. We can all take comfort in knowing that Uncle Nick continues to be held in good hands. We miss you, buddy, and are thankful for the opportunity to have known you.
Much love to all,
Billy, Christine and Peyton Hinkel

Nick was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and to us, a wonderful brother. He made us and our kids part of his immediate family. We mourned together and laughed together and his laughter was quick and contagious.
Because we have so many good memories of him and because he was the wonderful person he was, it is we who are left behind who feel the pain.
I pray there is a heavenly version of sunshine, barbecues and swimming pools and we will all gather together again one day. Until then, I will hear his laughter, remember his kindness and keep his memory in my heart. We love you, Nick.
Love, Fran and Bill
