Dearest Reet,
We tend to think of our parents as being immortal - they've always been there for us and somehow we feel they always will be. I know the magnitude of your loss and I truly feel your pain. Try to find comfort in knowing that "Big Reet" now has an understanding of God that we cannot even begin to imagine. Someday we will know, but for now we must deal with our sorrow by seeing our loss as another's fulfillment of joy and peace. There will never be anyone in your lifetime who will love you as unconditionally as your mother. Trust me, that connection will never go away. You will hear her loving words as well as her more than gentle nudges - fortunately for us that never goes away. As you well know, mothers take their job seriously and that continues on after they move into a heavenly existence. She will be with you always and will live forever in the hearts of all who loved her.
Keep your chin up, Reet. It's easier to see Heaven that way...
