Obituary of Stephen "Skip" G. Greene, Sr.

Stephen G. "Skip" Greene, Sr., 89, of Paulsboro, NJ formally of Woodbury and Deptford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 9, 2020.
 
Legacy
Born in Gloucester City, NJ, Skip was a loving and caring husband, father and Poppie.  He was a member of the United States Army and U.S. Naval Reserves.  Skip spent many years working for Boden and Baker Inc. retiring at the age of 55.  He also enjoyed bowling and throwing horseshoes.

Family
He is the beloved husband of 63 years to the late Violet L. "Snookie" Greene (nee Finger); loving father to Marie Barger (Bill), Brenda Montero (Jose), Jo Ann Grudzinski (Ed), Stephen Greene Jr. (Debbie), Herbert Greene (Robin), Roger Greene (Christine), and the late Daniel T. Greene (Nancy); adored "Poppie" to 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren.  Son of the Late Eleanor and Herbert Greene.  Dear brother of Shirley Simonetti, June Trotter and Pat Constantine.  He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, January 16th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096. A Farewell Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Stephen's  name to the NJ Veterans Memorial Home at Vineland- Volunteer Services Department at 856-405-4213.
