I will always remember my summers visiting you when I was little, Aunt Gretta. Although we didn't keep in touch that often after Mom and Dad broke up that never changed how we felt about all of you. If I could change anything I would so we could have spent more time together as a family. I will miss you a lot.
Love Sue Clifton Armstrong

What can I say about my friend and confidante. Gretta should have been a comedianne. She could and would be so funny at times without even realizing it. Our times together were always just what the doctor ordered. We would solve the world's problems over a cup of tea, or an occasional glass of wine, and don't forget the goodies. On occasion I would help myself to Joe's beer just to get him riled up, and it worked. I shall miss my friend so very much. Gretta, Debby, and I were the Golden Girls of tomorrow. You have left us for a better place but friend you will never be forgotten.

Aunt Gretta is one woman that has touched all of our lives. She was a wonderful woman who just enjoyed life to the fullest. I will remember and miss all the Easter's and easter egg hunts at her house, the shore trips, and the funny moments that we had. I love her and will miss her dearly. Love always, Kristyn

My sincere sympathy to the family. I was lucky to know Greta for a short time. Her love of life and concern for others was uplifting to all who she touched. I would like to share a poem that was given to me by Gretta.
Don't Count the Years
Don't count the years-they matter not, count only the dreams
That the years have brought, the happiness and the faith so dear.
The moments rich you have treasured here.
Don't count the years-only the smiles.
Or the peace you have known on the weary miles.
The laughter you've shared and the friends you've made.
Each magic hope that shall never fade.
Years are but numbers.- '
'tis living that counts.
a heart that knows joy-
small or large amounts.
a mind filled with loving-
eliminates fears.
count every blessing-
never the years.
