Dear Oslin and Speaker Families:
While visiting my parents recently, my mother had clipped the obituary for Kathleen. I was saddened to read the column. I attended Pocono Central Catholic with the Speaker family Paul's class and Bloomsburg University with GiGi but did not know how to contact the family since they left the Pocono area. I wanted to extend my condolences to your family and let you know that you are in my prayers. I am so sorry for your loss.

I think of you guys often and pray that God will give you guidance and strength.
I have so many memories - but mostly of dinners at my parents and the summers at Sea Isle. She was a great mom, great wife, great daughter and great sister!
Kathleen was a joy to know and her loss has left us broken hearted.
God Bless. . . .

How many times have I come to this page to express
my thoughts? extend my condolences? share my memories?
and yet I get here and my mind just wanders.
I think of an unspoken bond of friendship we shared. I think of our children and families having traveled so many roads together, our paths always crossing, our lives sometimes almost mirroring each others and yet I feel I fall short when it come to the bravery, courage, and faith shown by Kathleen and all of her family.
With her passing, I heard so many say how they hoped they could be a tenth of what she was.
I can not help but think of that as a beautiful lesson she taught inside and outside the classroom.

We are so sorry for the passing of Kathy. We wish we could have known her better. We live so close and time seems to just pass on by. The one memory I have of our friendship is every Halloween we would all get together and walk around with our kids. She always had a story and loved to laugh. All of our best to you and your family. We are only down the street if you should ever need anything. Our children will continue to grow up together and remember Kathy in conversation. We know all to well the agony of pain and to lose someone close at heart. But we also know the joy of loving those close to us and the memories they leave behind. There will always be reminders of our loved ones and you will appreciate the feeling of joy by them.

There are so many memories and moments that are flooding my mind, I can't even begin to share them. I have learned so very much from my beautiful, compassionate sister! The sadness I feel is certainly for the many things I need to learn and the long conversations, laughs, and hugs that must wait until we meet again. I am confident however, that each and every minute, Kathleen is with me guiding my thoughts, words, and actions as only she could - with gentleness and persistence. These are the qualities that made her such an extraordinary teacher in all areas of her life!
The people of her community are simply amazing! Their support and love was felt so very strongly throughout Kathleen's illness - and it is so appreciated by my whole family. And the Oslin's - you are such wonderful people! Many will never know how magnificient you were - the constant care and support you gave willingly and with love! I will forever admire you!
And Kathleen's Michael! I know without a doubt - there is a spot in Heaven engraved with your name. You were Kathleen's angel and love of her life for forever! One of the many things I thank Kathleen for is making you a part of my family!
And Tara and Regina - you know . . . I love you both more than you will ever imagine! A promise I made to your mother will be kept for all my days!
One thing Kathleen and I always wished for was to be closer to each other in distance. Two things that are so comforting now are: my energetic, talkative friend is no longer laying silently in a bed - she is without a doubt gabbing with the angels and organizing group activities for all of the children - making sure they take turns and use their manners; and secondly, we are no longer separated by miles - for she is right here in my heart!

KATH TAUGHT ME MANY THINGS ABOUT LIFE, BUT MAINLY, GENEROSITY, COURAGE, FAMILY VALUES; HOW TO LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY AND COMPLETELY;FAITH IN GOD. SHE TAUGHT ME HOW TO DIE WITH DIGNITY.
NOBODY KNOWS IF HEAVEN IMMITATES LIFE IN ANY WAY, BUT IF IT DOES, THERE IS A BEACH AND SHE IS ON IT. THE WEATHER IS WARM, AND THE SUN IS OUT. THERE ARE TWO TOWELS LAID CLOSE BY FOR TARA AND REGINA, AND TOY BUCKETS AND SHOVELS IN THEIR BEACH BAG IN ANTICIPATION FOR HER GRANDCHILDREN. THERE IS ALSO A FISHING POLE STUCK IN A SAND SPIKE WITH MY NAME ON IT AND SHE'S WAITING TO TAKE THAT WALK ON THE BEACH WITH ME AGAIN.
KATH IM A MUCH BETTER PERSON TODAY FOR HAVING KNOWN YOU. I UNDERSTAND NOW WHAT YOU HAD MEANT WHEN I ASKED YOU ABOUT YOUR CONVERSATION WITH THE LORD AND YOU RESPONDED, "I JUST KNOW," BECAUSE I KNOW YOU ARE WITH US ALL TODAY, I JUST KNOW. AND LIKE THE TIMES WHEN I HAD TO CARRY YOU OUT TO THE BEACH, I KNOW THAT YOU NOW CARRY US.
KATHLEEN, I LOVE YOU.
I'LL SEE YOU ON THE BEACH.
LOVE,
MIKE

Mike, Tara and Regina:
You are a true example of what it means to be a family...love, caring and unselfishness...all of which you have learned from an angel.
Kathy always put a smile on our faces and a song in our hearts, which will continue every time we think of how she touched the lives of everyone she met. She has left a permanent impression on our hearts and minds forever.
God bless you all at this difficult time.
Love,

Dear Mike, Tara and Regina:
I want you to know how beautiful Kathy was. She was my inspiration and my hero. She made me laugh when I thought I couldn't. She is the reason that my Christian is now an excellent student. Kathy will be greatly missed by everyone, especially me. We would sit by her bed day after day and laugh and joke and she would tell me how bad I was. At Christmas time, Kathy, Debbie and I went to the mall to go shopping and we had a ball. I don't think I ever laughed
so hard in my life. Here is something that I thought Kathy might say to everyone:
SAFELY HOME
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home is Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
OH! but Jesus' love illuminated
Every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus'arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt to dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still:
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth--
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!
Good Bye, Kathy. I will always love you and a part of you will always be in my heart. I miss you so very much but I know that you are now a precious beautiful angel. Watch over all of us. I love you forever Kathy, Good Bye for now.

Your entire family is in our prayers. We know the pain, only too well, but God loves us all so much that we have to believe that we will be together in the future. Please know how much we feel for you all and are here for you, should there be anything we can do.
Her greatest legacy are the beautiful daughters who carry on now what she gave them.
