Obituary of Thomas A. Bassler

Bassler, Thomas Alan ?Tommy?, age 61 of Vineland, formerly of National Park, NJ went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus on Sat. Feb. 8, 2003. Mr. Bassler was born on March 11, 1941 in Woodbury, NJ. He graduated from Woodbury High in 1959. He entered the Air Force in 1960, stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. He was Honorably discharged as Airman 1st Class in April 1967. He grew up in Wenonah and Woodbury and lived for many years in Upper Deerfield Twp., NJ before moving to National Park and then to the Veteran?s Memorial Home in Vineland. He was the former owner of the Finish Line Bar in Bellmawr. He also worked at Helen?s Greentree Restaurant in Thorofare. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed photography, Country Gospel music and salt water surf fishing in Chincoteague, VA. His greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He took great joy in telling everyone he knew about his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Preceded in death by his first wife Judith Nee Berquist in 1964. He is survived by his former wife Sandra Furman of Islamorada, FL. Devoted father of Keith Allen of Ocean City, NJ, Kenneth Earl of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kevin Scott Bassler of Marietta, GA , and Kimberly Ann Reinhold and her husband Daniel of Beesley?s Point, NJ. Beloved Pop-pop of Daniel and Amy Reinhold. He was the son of the late Thomas and Thelma Spilleth Bassler. Dear brother of Dorothy K. Palladino of Ocean City, NJ and David C. Bassler of Wenonah, NJ. Dear uncle of Chris and Mark Palladino of Woodbury, NJ and Lauren Peterson of Seattle, WA. Memorial Service Friday 1 PM in the MCGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME 34 Hunter St., Woodbury.
