Obituary of Leo Bruno Facchine
Leo Bruno Facchine, of West Deptford, NJ, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Shady Lane Nursing Home in Clarksboro, NJ. He was 93.
Legacy
Leo was born to the late Leonard and Angela Facchine in Caladonia, PA. He was one of 12 siblings. Leo proudly served our country in the United States Navy, enlisting while in the 11th grade and serving during World War II. After his enlistment, Leo went on to become a carpenter, retiring from Local 393 in Gloucester after 40 years. Leo married the love of his life, Bessie (nee Walker) on July 10, 1948 in Kane, PA. Together, they had 3 children, Michael, Thomas and Rodney.
Leo will be remembered as a selfless man. He was kind and patient. He was a true family man and adored spending time with his grandchildren. Leo was a hard worker. He had the gift of being detail oriented and precise. As crafty as he was, looking at a piece of furniture or formulating blue prints to craft something by hand was second nature to him. When Leo wasn't hard at work tinkering with this or building that, you could find him watching the Game Show Network on t.v. or following the Philadelphia Phillies. Tim Conway skits were always sure to get a belly laugh out of Leo. Leo held immense pride for his Italian-American heritage. He diligently and respectfully would raise both the Italian and American flags in front of his home every morning, weather conditions permitting so as to not disrespect the flags. Leo enjoyed his nighttime ritual of a glass of Fortissimo wine and 2 Hershey chocolate squares. He will be sorely missed by many family and friends.

He is the beloved husband of 59 years to the late Bessie (nee Walker) Facchine; devoted father to Michael (Barbara), Thomas (Donna) and Rodney (Kelly); cherished grandfather to Michelle, Tiffany (Keith), Kristen, Brandy (Jim), Rodney Jr. (Nikki), Dana, Thomas Jr. (Kelly) and Joseph; loving great grandfather to Morgan, Connor, Kaylin, Roman, Riley, Leo, Sophia, Guilliana, Safiya, Luke and Lucia; dear brother to Mae (Facchine) Merley.
