Obituary of Robert G. Miller

Robert G. Miller, 84, of Washington Township, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020.

Legacy

A warm and loving gentleman, Bob made friends easily as he struck up conversations with everyone, anywhere. His sense of humor, quick wit and great storytelling went along perfectly with his outgoing nature. He enjoyed cheering on the Phillies and Eagles, watching golf and making friends with the neighborhood dogs as he fed them treats. The neighbors would always be looking to his yard to see what flowers would be blooming with his green thumb. A hard working man, Bob always made time for family. Many wonderful memories were made as the family played tennis together, especially the one on one games with Dad.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Bob was a resident of Washington Township for 30 years. The family are long time members of Calvary Church. Prior to retirement, he was a service technician for Bell Telephone and AT&T. With his experience at the phone company, he earned security clearance from the FBI and was responsible for setting up phone equipment for places such as the Civic Center, Franklin Field, Jerry Lewis Telethon and some dignitaries. He also set up phone equipment from Philadelphia to Cape Canaveral with GE. Even after retirement, Bob was not one to sit still so he became an exterminator; this was a great job for Bob considering all of the people he met and just more people he could share his wonderful stories with.

Family

Beloved husband of 54 years to Joan A. (nee Siegfried); devoted father of Robert S. (Lynn) Miller and the late Richard E. Miller; loving grandfather of Chelsea and Courtney; dear brother of the late Shirley and Ruth.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bob's viewing on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park, Sewell, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
